Not cold . . . Freezing in fact, I just don't want to move, I need more warmth この英文訳は、「ない寒さ。 。 。実際に凍結、私はちょうど移動したくない場合は、私はもっと暖かさが必要」。。。と訳されますが、これに対しての返信文がわかりません。どんな文が適してるのでしょうか。申し訳ありません。教えて頂けますでしょうか。お願いします。

" Why not?" という例文がありまして、Why not ?に省略されている言葉をすべて書き出す。ということをしました。 Why don't you want to do it again? と Why do you not want to eat it again? など考えられるのですが、どれもOKだと思っています。しかし そう思っていない人もいるようです。理由が聞けなかったので困っています、とくにfocus onしたいのがWhy don't you ~? と Why do you not ~? です。 Why don't you ~? はお誘いになっちゃうおそれがあるからなのかな？ わかりません。よろしくお願いいたします。

英語の部分否定についての質問です。 部分否定を表すのに、否定語+全部を表す言葉（all, always, everything など）と覚えますよね。 それで、 Not all he says is true. とか Not everything is true. とかいう例文を見かけます。 上記のように、not と全体を表す言葉 (all, everything など）がすぐ隣同士だと部分否定の文としてとても分かりやすいのですが、例えば I don't know everything. という文では not とeverything が少し離れてしまいます。 これを嫌って、 I know not everything. と、無理に not と everything を隣同士にしている間違った英文を見かけました。 この英文は間違いだと感覚的には分かるのですが、では、どうして間違いなのかと考えると、うまく文法的に説明ができません。 I know not everything. はどうして間違いで、 I don't know everything. の方がどうして正しいのでしょう？？ どう考えたら、すっきりと説明がいくでしょうか？？ どうか助けて下さい！！

今、家庭教師で中学三年生に英語を教えています。 その問題で、並べ替え問題があったのですが、 I want to drink something cold.が答えでした。でも僕（大学生）は I want something cold to drink.だと思うのですが。 これはどうして間違いなのでしょうか。僕は両方とも正しいような気がします。ニュアンスの違いのような気もするのですが、試験で解けといわれたら、今まで習ってきた、下の文を間違いなく自信をもって書くと思います。でも解答には上の式が書いてあるのです。わかりません。よろしくお願いします。

not ～because の文について You are not great because you know many things.は、「物知りだからといって、あなたは偉いわけではない。 」と訳されていました。これだと偉くないことを強調しているみたいですが、この英文は、You are great not because you know many things. や You are great by an another reason と言い換えられますか。この場合だと、「あなたの物知りなことが、偉い理由ではない。」や「あなたが偉いのは他の理由によるものだ。」と偉いことに重きをおけます。 他の英文だと、I don't like you because you are beautiful.は、 I like you not because you are beautiful や l like you by an another reason..に置き換えられますか?
