★穴埋め★ (1)were　(2)doing ★和訳★ (1)船はすでに神戸港を発っていた。 (2)A:あなたは今までにハリス氏と英語で話したことがありますか？ 　 B:いいえ、一度もありません。 (3)私たちは長い間、お互いを知っています。 (4)彼はどこかでメガネを失くしてしまいました。 (5)A:メグはどれくらいピアノを練習し続けているのですか？ 　 B:今朝からずっと練習しています。 ・補足（回答のポイントを思いつく限り書いてみました。読まなくてもいいです。質問への回答は上記のもので全てです） 穴埋め問題の方では、「私があなたに電話したとき」というのが「when～」で表されています。 「What (　) you (　)」の部分で「（その時）何をしていたのか」という動作を尋ねる文をつくることになります。 haveやdoなども使いたくなってしまうかもしれませんが、「何をしていたのですか」を「何をしているのですか」と、一旦現在形におきかえて考えると「What are you doing?」という表現を思い出せるのではないでしょうか（ちなみにhaveを使うとWhat had you done～になりここでは意味が合わないのでバツ、doを使うとWhat did you do～になり電話があった"その時になにをしていたのか"という意味が弱くなりますが厳密には間違っているというわけでもないのでバツにはならないかもしれません）。 過去の話なのでareではなく過去形のwereになります。 和訳問題はいわゆる現在完了ですね。「ある出来事が続いていて、その結果として今はこうだ」というように現在の状況に何らかのつながりを持たせたい時に使われる表現です。用法の見分け方なども覚えてしまっておくとよいと思います。 (1)完了・結果用法　船が出発してしまっていて、今も神戸港にはいない　already、just、yetはこの用法の時に使われることが多いです。 (2)経験用法　never、once、～times など回数表現をともなうことが多いです。 (3)継続用法　for期間、since過去のある時点 のどちらかが使われていたら大体継続用法です。 (4)完了・結果用法　メガネを失くしてしまっていて今もない (5)継続用法　進行形もともなっており（設問では疑問文になっていて更に厄介ですが）、ある時点から今もその動作をし続けている、ということが表されています。 もし宿題か何かなら、間違えてでも一度自分で解いてみることが大事です（解いてみて解ききれなかった残りなのかもしれませんが）。 これから暑くなりますが勉強がんばってください。
