looseという単語について
They don't know how to design a loose hull that is narrow.They design a boat if it isn't loose the first thing they do is make it wider. 上の文章に出てくる「loose」という語を、「密度の低い＝浮力のある」と解釈することは可能でしょうか？ そうすると、「幅の狭さを補うような浮力のあるボートをつくれないから、船体の幅を広くするしかない」というような意味になります。 この文についてのご意見をいただけませんか？

彼らは狭いながらもゆったりとした船体(殻)を設計する術を知らない。 最初設計したものが、ゆったりしてないなら、彼らが先ずなすべきことはもっと巾広く設計することだ。 以上のような意味だと思いますが！

「余裕があるのに細身の艇体を作る方法など知らない。もしボートに余裕がなければ、最初にするのは艇幅を広くすることだ」 loose＝（搭乗者にとって）余裕がある、ゆるい という意味じゃないですか？ カヤックの話ですよね？

英文を書いていて、ネイティヴの方にみてもらったのですが I think, losing consciousness is danger, isn't it? という文章は、 I think losing consciousness is dangerous, isn't it? のほうが、良い。と訂正していただきました。 なぜ、dangerのままだといけないのでしょうか。 （今読み返してみたら、 is a danger と、冠詞をつけたほうがいいような気はしてきましたが…）
