空所に適切な語を入れる問題です。 Bill has to work ( ), doesn't he? 1. very hard 2. more hard 3. very hardly 4. more hardly これは 1. very hard で合っていますか？

その通りです。 hard の比較級は harder ですので，more hard とは言いません。

ちょっかい出すなというのは、論点とはあまり関係のないところで人を揶揄するような場合であって、重要な誤りについて、根拠をもって指摘するのとは別です。 とにかく、根拠なく、書くのはいけない。 more harder のように比較級を二つ並べるようなことは文法的に誤りと正しく指摘しているだけです。
まあまあ、 2. は対象外なので、悪い例を出したら、あげ足をとる人がいるのですね。これもひっかけで、面白いです。 人の回答に「ちょっかいを出すな」と言う人もどこかにいるのですがね。

「熱心に」という副詞を強調するのは very で very hard hard の比較級は harder であって，more hard ではない。 その比較級 harder を強調するのは much や far や very much であり，very harder とは言わない。 more harder だと比較級が二つ重なっているので普通の文法では誤りです。 （言葉遊びとか，文法の関係ない場面で使うことまでは考慮しません）
1. で良いのですが、一部にひっかけがありますね。 まず「懸命に働く」は「work hard」だと覚えましょう。この場合の「hard」は副詞と言われています。2. なら more harder. さて、3. と 4. の hardly についてですが、hard の副詞形に見えますね。通常、これは否定の意味を持っている別の単語です。Bill can hardly work. 「ほとんど働けない」

He stays on the edges and doesn't exert himself. He often gives the impression of being mentally else where, of not paying attention to the moment, not very focused.. There is little to draw attention to him. So with his quite demeanor, he tends to blend into the background.

こんにちは。はじめまして。実は、中学のテストで『「I am very hungry.」と「I can't walk any more.」の2文をtoo～to doを使って1文にせよ』という問題が出まして。no more＝not～any moreなので、too toを使った時点でnotがなくなるからany moreは削るべきかと思いあえて書きませんでした。ところが、先生の模範解答は「I am too hungry to walk any more.」とあり。こんな英文はありうるのでしょうか？どなたか教えてください…。よろしくおねがいします。
