次のsaying（格言？）の意味は？
ある洋書を読んでいまして、次のsayingが出てきましたが、意味がとれません。よろしくお願いします。文の構造も解説していただけるとありがたいです。 Whether you believe you can or believe you can't, either way you're right.

以下の文章に関する質問です。 That's not saying that anything goes —but we can't forget that although theories are clean and simple, situations rarely are. 「なんでもまかり通るということではないですが、理論は綺麗で単純ですが、状況は滅多にそうではないということを我々は忘れることが出来ない。or忘れてはいけない。」 1. どうしてこの文章があるのか分からないです。メッセージの意図が理解できないです。 2. canの用法は訳文の後者で合っているのか自信がないです。 解説宜しくお願いします。

I don't know whether /if you like better A or B. この文をEitherを目的後の後に置き、Either A or B you like better.とすることはできないのでしょうか？おそらく否定文では両方が否定されるので、できないと考えるのですが。 また「ChristianityかIslamのどちらが正しいかわからない」 及び「あなたがAかBのどちらが好きかどうかは分からない」とする場合、whethher/if若しくはeitherを目的語として用いることはできないでしょうか？一つが対象物なら※I don't know whether/if A is righ or notとすることは容易に思いつくのですが、やはりwhichを使ってI don't know which religion is right, Christianity or Islam./I don't know which smething you like better,A or B.とした方が良いのでしょうか？最後に疑問なのですがWich do you like better,A or Bで、平叙文にする場合に、I don't know wich you like better,A or Bと見ないのですが使える用法なのでしょうか。使えるならばwhichは間接疑問ということになるのでしょうか（そもそもbetterも入れるべきか疑問なのですが）？ 長文ですが宜しくお願い致します。

First, I can see how one would think that atheists have a mental block. However, I think that if you don't agree with something, you're not going to believe it's the right way of thinking, and therefore may believe the person that does believe it is not capable of seeing the flaws in the religion, or lack thereof. I've had to try very hard to see why people can believe somethings, such as Catholics, or even the people that join cults! How can they believe it?! I'm a writer, I can float for hours on a word like "amethyst" or "broom" or the way so many words sound like what they are: "earth" so firm and basic, "air" so light, like a breath. この文なんですが、"the way so many words sound like what they are"の部分の文法構造と意味がわかりません。 "the way"は「～のように」、"what they are"は"what he used to be"のような「～であるところの・・・」という意味だと思いますが、このtheyは・・・wordsでしょうか？どちらにしろ文としての意味がわかりません。 the way, like, whatのような単語が並ぶとわけがわからなくなってしまいます・・・お力を貸していただけませんでしょうか。

ご回答ありがとうございます。意味は分かりました。 直訳するとどんな感じなんでしょうか。 「自分を信じようが信じなかろうが、どちらであってもあなたは正しい。」多分違いますよね。この直訳と内容が食い違っていますから。wehtherとeither wayの使い方が分かりません（涙）
補足
直訳は合っているみたいです。 「自分を信じようが信じなかろうが、どちらであってもあなたは正しい。」なぜこれが、「あなたがどう考えるかということが問題なだけだ」…＞「あきらめてはならない」になっていくのでしょうか。 よろしくお願いします。
