How's that for an idea?に対する返事
こんにちは。 ebayで大小2枚のお皿が1セット、1アイテムとして出品されていました。 大きい方がとても気に入ったので送料を質問したら、予想よりかなり高かったので、気に入った大きいお皿だけ送ってくれないか（落札価格は全額払うので）質問したら、OKの返事をくれました。 If you win it then I'll put the small plate back on ebay and you and I can halve the price of it. How's that for an idea? ありがたいことに落札したら落札価格の半額にしてくれるようです。 これに対して了解したという返事を送りたいのですが、How's that for an idea?に対する返事は、 Ok, it's nice idea. でいいのでしょうか? それとも Yes, I agree with what you say. のほうがいいでしょうか? 気の利いた文章もありましたら教えていただけるとありがたいです。 英語に詳しい方、よろしくお願いいたします。

先の回答者さんが > その儲けの半分をあなたに還元すると言っているように思います。 と仰っている通りです。 How's that for an idea. は、アイディアとして、どう？ という意味です。 idea という単語は可算名詞なので That is a great/good/brilliant idea. の様に a をつけなければなりません。 また agree with の後には 通常 人が来て ○○さんに同意する そして agree to の後には 通常 意見などが来て ○○という意見に同意する という用法になります。 なので この場合 I agree を使うなら、 I would agree to that idea/your idea. となります。 儲け分をどう分けてくれるのか、私も解りませんが、、、。 いずれにしても、落札できるといいですね。 （＾＾

もしかしたら、少々勘違いされているのかもしれません 出品者があなたに提示しているのは もしあなたが落札されれば、あなたが全額をまず支払い 出品者はあなたに大きな皿の方だけを送り、 小さい皿の方はそれだけ単品でebayに再度出品した上で、 もし誰かがその小さい皿を落札すれば、その儲けの半分を あなたに還元すると言っているように思います。 もしこの条件でいいのであれば 返事としては ok its nice ideaでも yes I agreeでもどちらでも構わないと思います。 しかし、どうやって小さい皿の半額の代金を出品者があなたに送金するのかは不明ですので、話し合う余地があると思います。

アドバイスありがとうございます。 あ、なるほど～だから小さい皿を出品するという文章があるのですね。 私も落札額の半額を返してくれるなんて、セラーに何の得もないし、おかしいと思っていたのです。この訳ならば納得できます。 いずれにしろ返金は期待してないので、あまり気に留めませんでした。大変参考になりました。すっきりしました。 セラーに早速返事します。 どうもありがとうございました。
