こんにちは。 親御さんが英語がお出来になりますね、大したものです！ thing は「（漠然と）事柄、こと」という意味で多用されますね： ・The most important thing is you to believe me. （最も大事なことは ～） ・Here is the thing. （「ここが重要だよ、よく聞いてね」という促し） thing の代わりに experience なども良いと思いますが、ちょっと難しいでしょうから、小学生であったらご質問文の通りで充分過ぎると思いますよ。パーフェクト・イングリッシュです。 或いは： ・What were the easiest and hardest things in our class ? 、、、と、the easiest と組み合わせて聞いてみるというのもアイディアですよね。 ご参考までに。

通じます。 "in our class"ですが、『研究社 ライトハウス和英辞典』の「クラス」の項は次のようになっています。 ・彼と私は同じクラスです。"He and I are in the same homeroom." ・田中先生は2Bのクラスの担任です。"Mr. Tanaka is in charge of homeroom 2B." なぜ私がこの"in our class"に引っ掛かったかと云うと、普通「授業」のことを"class"と云い、先生側から見て「私のクラス」を"my class"とよく云うからです。生徒側が"our class"と呼んでいいものだろうか？と思ったのでした。 英英辞典'LDOCE'（Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English）の"class"を見ると、 ・"a group of pupils or students who are taught together: The English class is reading Shakespeare." ・"a period time during which pupils or students who are taught: What time does the next class begin?" 最初に述べたように、質問者の英文は完璧に通じるのですが、私のように細かく考える場合は"in this English class"とすることです。これなら絶対安全です。

通じます。 もしくは、 What was the hardest thing in our class? の方が『大変』というニュアンスに近いかな？？

英語の授業は２種類あります。 I have two English classes. ひとつの授業はネイティブのイギリス人が先生です。 One of the class is conducted by native Englishman. 先生の話を聞いて、映画を見れば授業は終わります。 The class finished after we listen to his talking and watch the movies. とても楽な授業なのですが、時間がとても長く感じます。 This class is very easy, but I feel the time is too long. もう一つの授業は英語の文章を日本人の先生が説明します。 The other class was conducted by Japanese, and he explains the English sentences. 先生の説明はとてもわかり易いです。 His explanation is very easy to understand.

簡単なparagraphを書いてみたので文法などの添削をお願いします。また、内容的にも変なところがありましたら指摘をおねがいします。 Through this class, I have learned a lot of things to write a good paragraph or essay. One of the most interested thing is differences of sentences that translated by using translator and sentences that native spearkers use. In the beginning of class, I often used tranlator, because I was trying to use sentences structure from my first language- Japanese. But those sentences that I translated from my 1st language by using translator almost doen’t make sense for native spearker or include wrong words that native speakers don’t use. So, in the beginnung of the class, I was often commented by professor “I can’t undestand what this sentence says.” or “ This word is not used in this situation.” Since then, I tried to write a paragraph or essay without using translator, but it was very difficult at first. Also it took so much time to write a paragraph or essay, it were woes for me. In short, there are differences between english and translation of translator. There are differences between english and not only japanese but also another language. The most important thing is to understand the differences in addition to learning english.

はじめまして。 He continues to behave in what most people agree is a normal manner. という文章があります。なんとなく訳は出来ます。 「彼は、大部分の人が違和感無く覚えるマナーを実践し続ける」 間違っていたら添削をお願いします。。。 ただ、この「なんとなく」というのが恐いのです。文法的にはどうなっているのかを知りたいです。 [He continues to behave]は置いといて、後半の [in what most people agree is a normal manner]は、文法的にどのような形になっているのでしょうか？ （１）[what]の係る位置 この文の主節の動詞は[continues]なので、[what]以下の[is]は[what]に係る範囲内と考えました なので[in what most people agree is a normal manner]までを１つのまとまりとすると考えました。 正しいでしょうか？ （２）[what]の補った箇所 ここが分かりません。 関係代名詞の[what]を使った際は、後に不完全な文が続くと認識しています。 たしかに[most people agree is a normal manner]は不完全な文です。 そして、見る限りは動詞が連続する[agree]と[is]の間に、whatが補えると思ったのですが・・・ what=the thingとして考えてみると [most people agree in the thing is a normal manner] となり、[most people agree in the thing]が名詞扱い出来ず、これもちょっとおかしな英文になりました。 [what]はどこを補っているのでしょうか・・・？
