kochouran6さん、こんにちは！ 長い記事ですね！ But many of these figures were fairly marginal... 「これらの人々の多くは」は、いいですね。marginal は small in importance です。fairly ＝ かなり、で、あまり強く訳さないほうがいい言葉です。 これらの人々の多くは、あまり社会的な重みを持っていない ということだと思います。 以上、ご参考になれば幸いです！

結局は数として小さいわけですが、数が少ないだけでなく相手に与える効果も小さいというフィーリングですね。

To understand the use of the article ‘a’ is especially difficult for me. I wonder why you should put ‘a’ in the phrase of “in a hurry” but not in the case of “in trouble”. Will someone tell me the difference of these two phrases?
