米ヤフーアンサーでこんなのがありました。 What effect would increasing the number of chromosomes in the cell have on the number of possible gene? combinations in the gametes spores of a given generation? まだ回答が付いていないので、余計分かりませんが、気になるので 質問します。 遺伝子の中にあるCHROMOSOMESの数の持つ数によって、どんな増やす効果になりますか？ これは間違いな気がしますが、分かりにくいので教えてください。

possible gene だけで「遺伝子」という意味だと思います。 「細胞内に染色体を増やすと遺伝子にどんな影響が出るのだろうか」と意味で、wouldは仮定です。
