No.2の方が書かれているようにon the house(店のおごりで)という表現がありますので文法的にはhouseも可能ですが、「そのような小さな店のおごりで生活する」という意味になってしまい、現実的にはあり得ないと思います。また、foodはlive on such a little foodなら「そんなに少ない食糧で生活する」という意味になりますがこの文ではsmallなので不可です。moneyについては上記のとおりです。

such a small～でaが付いていますのでmoneyは不可です。such a small amount of moneyならOKです。incomeは形容詞が付くとa～incomeになります。

live on は何々を常食とする などオンにつづくもので暮らすという意味になります I live on rice 私は米を常食としています live on となっているのでまずFOODとhouseはだめ FOODを常食というはおかしいし ハウスも意味不明 そうするとMONEY かINCOMEになりますが ここでは収入という意味のINCOMEがよりふさわしいと思います しかしMONEYも悪くないと 私は思いますがね

house の 前置詞は in なのです。live on a house にはならないのです。in 中、 on 上 を意味します（一般的なルールにより） 家の上には住まないですよね！中に住みますよね。 前置詞は大変難しく一般的なルールはあるのですが、完全ルールはないので、慣れしかないようです。
on + house だと、「on the house=店のサービスで」っていう言葉ならあります。もし、「家で」という意味を表したいなら「on」ではなく「in」になるのではないですか？

house が答えになるためには、live on が live in でなくてはならないとダメなのかと思います。 この問題をパッと見た時僕も house だと思ったほどなのであまり参考にはならないかもしれませんが・・・。

テーマはここ数年のニュースで話題になったものというものです。 I was interested in the news which the age of adult should be lowered to eighteen years old. I agree with this idea. Young people these days are overprotected. They can't know anything about the world. It is true that people in their teens still aren't mentally and physically mature. Manｙ teenageｒ don't have a full time job, live with their parents and depend on their parents, However, this is the reason why the age of adult should be lowered. Someday, they will have to live by their own. If they have to be responsible to everything they do, they will become aware that they should be independent. 文法解釈お願いします。 集合名詞と"uncountable noun"の違い A) There are far less people doing manual jobs these days. B) There are far few people doing manual jobs these days. 慣用的にB)が正解と解るのですが、その文法解釈がわかりません。 B)が正解の理由は People is a countable noun and to use fewer with it. Less is used with uncountable nouns, such as ' wine ' or ' money '. という事なのですが、 辞書で見ると"People"は[複数形なし; 集合的に; 複数扱い] とあります。 集合名詞で可算名詞という事ですか。 ご教示ください。
