私に分かる範囲で。 (1) I was surprised to know how small the number of people who had been present at the meeting was. 最後の部分は少なくともwasです。the number は単数形ですので。 私でしたら、「少ししか人がいなかった」と解釈して、 I was surprised to know that very few people had been present at the meeting. とするかもしれません。（正しいかどうかは分かりませんが…） (2) あなたの英文の"what it is to feel right and wealthy" のit はなくてもいいですよ、きっと。 wealthy というのは、「（金銭的・物質的に）豊かな」という意味なので、 抽象的な豊かさにもつかえる"rich" を私は使ってみました。 この問題では、「正しく豊かに感じることを人々に教えている」の解釈をしないといけないでしょう。 「正しく豊かに感じるということがどういうことかを人々に知らせている」というのであれば、 Great art always lets us know what is to feel in right and rich way. 「正しく豊かに感じる経験を人々にさせている」というのであれば、 Great art always lets us feel in right and rich way. となるでしょう。 「正しく豊かに」が"in right and rich way"なのかは私もわかりません。 peopleのかわりにusを使ってみましたが、peopleでもいいと思います。 一般的な人々をさす場合youとかもよく使いますよね… (3) The population is slightly over 500 thousand. The population slightly exceeds over 500 thousand. でよいような気もします。 あなたの英文では「その人口は500を少し超えたくらいと同じくらい少ない」となりますね。 わずかに超えるだけの「だけ」をとても大切にしてるのだと思います。 私はこの英文についてはよくわかりません。申し訳ないです。

世の中からいい人と言われる人間になるのは簡単です。耳ざわりのいい言葉を操り、困窮した立場にある人間、いわゆる弱者と呼ばれる人々の側に立ってものを語ればいいんです。しかし、人から信頼される人になるという事は、一筋縄ではいきません。 It is easy to be said you are kind by other people.This is because, to be said so, all you have to do is using the word which do not irritate others and talking as if you were on behalf of poor people so to speak the weak.
