単刀直入なメールで構いません。それが普通です。 せいぜい書き出しで何か入れるにしても、Hi程度で構いません。 I got your e-mail but I'm afraid you sent it to wrong person. If you were sending me, sorry for my getting it wrong. 上記でも親切な方です。以前間違えたときには 「Wrong e-mail!」とだけ返信された事があります。

have been to Tokyo before but i don't think i know it too well; so maybe you can show me around some day. what is your work schedule, if you don't mind me asking? 私は東京に住んでると言ったらこのようなメールをもらったのですが、 show me aroundの後に仕事のスケジュールとかを聞いてくる感じをみると、いつが暇なのかを聞かれてる感じがしますがそれは考えすぎでしょうか？ この質問は誘う感じできいてるのでしょうか・・・？

In my opinion, why argue at all? I can't say that you're right in your beliefs and I can't say that I am either. It's just not possible in my mind. But then, yes, I have experienced some of the feelings you mentioned in your letter. What's the point? Coming from someone who likes to think there is something out there, but realize that I am not sure - We're here to live together and to choose how to live in this society.
