GRAMMARの問題
It was very long jorney.I was very tired after ----on a train for 36 hours. 点線の部分はｔravellingかbeingが入るらしいのですがどうしてridingは駄目なのでしょうか？ あと After---the same job for ten years,I felt I needed a change. doingかhavingが入るらしいのですがどうしてworking は駄目なんでしょうか？ 分からないのでどなたか是非お願いします。

簡単に説明しますと、 travelling/being on a train ○ riding on a train × riding a train ○ doing/having the same job ○ working the same job × working at the same job ○ これらは理屈より丸暗記するしかないですね。

こんばんは 間違いではないと思いますけど、 ride は、主として足をまたいで乗るもの （自転車とかバイクとか馬とか……）に 使われる、と習ったような気がします。 参考までね。

まず最初の文ですが、rideでもいいと思います。 以下のURLにもありますし……。 http://dictionary.goo.ne.jp/search.php?MT=ride&kind=ej&mode=0&base=1&row=1 次の文ですが、 doing や having は job にかかります。 do the job で、[仕事]を[する]です。 have the job で、[仕事]を[持つ]ですね。 working the job = [仕事]を[働く]というのはおかしいのですね。

It was very tired. という文は正しいですか？2文目は普通、I was tired.にし、Itを主語にする場合、tiresomeにすべきではないかと思うのですが、念のためGoo○leなどで検索してみたら、It was tired は結構ヒットするのです。どうか教えてください。また、tiredは形容詞として辞書に載っていますが、もともとはtireの受身ですよね？その点から見てもIt was tired.はおかしいと思うのですが、私の考え方が正しいかどうか教えてくださいませ。
