He is old enough to drive a car. という文は両方とも正しいと思います。 しかし、so that に書き換えると、 He is so old that he can't drive a car. ×He is so old that he can drive a car. となって、一番下は成立しません。 He is too 形容詞 to 不定詞. He is 形容詞 enough to 不定詞. のように、同じ形容詞、不定詞を使って、しかも、so ～ that に書き換えることができる例文があったら、教えてください。よろしくお願いいたいたします。

英語の問題で 「Has Mr. White arrived yet?」 「No, he ( ) half an hour ago.」 という問題があって (1) must have been here (2) ought to have been here で、答えは(2)なのですが(1)では駄目な理由が分かりません 「ought to have done」 は 「～したはずだ」で、「must have done」は「～したに違いない」ですよね？ 教えてください

I had way too much to drink. アメリカのドラマを見ていたら、「きのうは飲みすぎちゃった。」という訳で、“I had way too much to drink" といっていました。 わたしにはこの英訳は思いつきそうもありません。 “I drank too much yesterday" と訳すでしょう。 ところで、 “I had way too much to drink." この文章を文法的に解析するとどうなるのでしょうか。 to drink の部分がわかりません。 I have a lot of homework to do. この to do と同じでしょうか。 これは不定詞の形容詞的用法のところに載っている例文です。 この場合はto do がhomework を修飾していると思います。 でも、 上の文章には修飾する名詞がないです。 名詞は省略されていると考えたらいいのでしょうか。 それにしても、不定詞は未来のこと、これから先のことをあらわしているようなイメージがあり、なんだかしっくりきません。 どなたか おしえてください。
