この文での冠詞について
Toeicの模試で"He was not --- to admit his mistakes"の穴埋め問題に対し、正解が"man enough"と示されました。似たようなタイトルの歌もあるので正しいと思いますが、なぜ"a man enough"とならないのかが分かりません。 どなたか英語が得意な方にご教授頂けると助かります。

大学入試の問題で He is not ( ) to be a good driver. とありcareless enough がだめでcautious enoughが正解となってますがなぜでしょうか。「彼は上手に運転するに足りるほど用心深くはない」という訳ですが、careless enoughなら「彼は上手に運転するに足りるほど注意深い」となるはずですが。lessで終わる形容詞の直前にnotが付かないということでしょうか。He was careless not to 不～という文はよく見かけますが、後ろにnotが入ればいいのでしょうか。根拠が知りたいです。お願いします。

- 同じ構造なのにどうして意味が
(1) He was the last man to leave the office. (2) He was the last man to break his promise. という文があります。どうして、(1)は(2)のように、もっともオフィスを出そうにない人、という解釈にならないのでしょうか？

下記の英文の意味がよくわかりません。 1) It is not even dawn yet. 2) With her lateness and he is panic over having not enough shampoo to wash his hair three times as was his custom. 1)は「まだ夜が明けてさえいない」の訳であっていますか? 2)については、to以下の、「いつものように3度彼は頭を洗うために」と いうところまではわかったのですが、それより前の 「With her lateness ... enough shampoo までの所の意味がわかりません。 おわかりになる方、教えてください。

There are a lot of thinking points in this story. In my opinion, the author wanted to convey readers how the narrator’s thinking about the blind man was changed through this story. In the first time, the narrator believed that the blind man was totally different human being because he can not see anything, however, the narrator was surprised at him when he saw the blind man first time because his appearance was not so different as usual people. At first, the narrator felt big jealousy toward blind man, so he was mean to the blind man because his wife and the blind man seemed got along well. However, the narrator’s opinion about him was changed gradually as the story going. At first, the narrator was consumed by jealousy, however he opened his heart to him after drawing the cathedral together, also he learned a lot of things from blind man.

(1)The man who I thought was his uncle proved to be a stranger 上の文を２つに分解したものが↓ 【1】The man proved to be a stranger 【2】I thought (that)he was his uncle ------------------------------------------------------- (1)が出来上がるまでの過程として、参考書に “【2】のI thoughtは一旦無視して、先ずhe was his uncleを who was his uncleとして先行詞につなげる。 そして後からI thoughtを補う。これが関係詞直後の挿入である” という主旨の記述がなされていたんですが、 何故この様な回りくどい事をするのか疑問に思います。 “【2】のheは【1】のthe man とダブるから whoに変えて先行詞となるthe manの直後に移動、 そして【2】の中で残されたものをそのままwhoの後ろに続ける” という至極単純なものが自分の考え方なのですが、 (1)の文は挿入という手段を用いない限り 完成しない文なのでしょうか？
