(1) Well, at least it doesn't sound like it's falling downと言っているのは、 「まぁ、最低でも（一晩を過ごせたということは）家は崩壊してはいないようだね。」 (2) a little workというのはちょっとした仕事、という意味ですか？ → そうです、ちょっとした（修復）作業、という意味です (3) after –how long has it been?のafterはどういう意味になるのでしょうか？ 「（その物件に人が住まなくなって）あれから - どれくらい経つんだ？」の ”あれから” です。
