But the finest image approximating the Koch curve will be limited by the fact that eventually the segments will get too short to be drawn or displayed. Finest imageはここでどういう意味でしょうか？もっとも細かい像？最も立派な像...？ 辞書に2つ以上の意味がある場合どれが使われているのかは文脈でしか判断できないのでしょうか？

Countriesはcriteriaに「沿った行動」を採るのでしょうか？それとも「それとは対立的な行動」を採るのでしょうか。wellとagainstは、対立的な意味を持っているというイメージがあったので、辞書にもあたってみたのですが、はっきりと分かりませんでした。 will以下の単語も調べたのですが、recompenseは「ある人の行為に対する報い」とあり、「報酬」と「報復」、とも訳せます。 また、disproportionateも、その意味は「不釣り合いな、不均衡な」なので、「不釣り合いなほど、大きい」あるいは「不釣り合いなほど、小さい」とも解釈出来るようです。 このような事情で、well againstがしっかりと分かっていないと、この文章の意味は分からないと思いました。 宜しくお願いします！

海外(母国語が英語ではない)の会社と英文でコミュニケーションをとる必要があるのですが、私自身が英語力がゼロに等しいので、翻訳の方に英訳してもらっています。 そこで、ふと気になった訳文がありました。 「～したとき、画面が表示されない。」という日本語に対して "The screen will not be displayed when ～"となっていました。 実際に画面が表示されないので、 "The screen is not displayed when ～"ではだめですか？と英訳の方に訊ねたところ、「willを使った方が、文法にとらわれた不自然な英語を使うよりも、ビジネスライクな英語を使った方が、相手の印象がいいと思います」と説明を受けました。 "The screen is not displayed when ～"がだめなのがよくわからなかったことと、willを使うとなぜよくなるのかが、わかりません。 一応、その際にいただいた説明によると、とある辞典に、 ⇒トラブルの発生を意味し、その原因について述べる場合に用いる。実際にはまだトラブルが起きていないのでwillが慣用的に用いられる。 とあるからだそうですが、 「画面が表示されない」のはトラブル発生の原因ではなく、結果です。また、実際にトラブルが発生しているので、「トラブルが起きていないので…」には該当しない気がしなくもないのです。 ネイティブには通じると仮定して、母国語でない方々にすんなり通じるものなのでしょうか。 お手数ですが、ご回答よろしくお願いいたします。

買い物の場面での英語の使い方についてテキストで勉強しています。 その際に店員が品物の値段を言う際に、 「it wii be $2.7」 （２ドル７セントです） と書いてありました。 他にも 「That wii be $75」 （75ドルになります） とも書いてありました。 なぜお勘定の際に、willが使われるのでしょうか？ willって単純に未来形に使われるイメージがありまして、 なぜ上記のような場合、willが使われるのか意味がよく分かりません。 よろしくお願いします。
