どちらが正しいですか？
He could feel her trembled with fear. He could feel her trembling with fear. 「彼は、彼女が怖がってることを感じた。」は、どちらになりますか？ また、もう一方の訳がどのように違ってくるのかも教えてください。 よろしくお願いいたします。

could だとちょっと素直な過去と感じないので felt でいきましょう。 tremble は「震える」という自動詞 「震えさせる」という他動詞両方あります。 普通、過去分詞は受身を表し、 震えさせられるで震えると同じになりそうです。 人が興奮しているは「している」に惑わされそうで 実際は excited となります。 しかし、こういう自動詞他動詞両方ある場合、 過去分詞で受身とともに完了的な意味合いが生じ 震え終わったことが示唆されます。 その時に震えているのであれば 自動詞 tremble の ing を選ばないといけません。 with fear とも自動詞の方が合います。
