「IPv4のドメインで、112.78.211.172は、long IPでは、1884214188 だが、このサイトは現在オンラインらしい」 long IPというのは、IPv4のドット区切りの表示を それぞれの区切りを16進にし、ドットなしの8桁16進にして、これを10進に変換したもの。 上の例では、112.78.211.172→704ED3AC→1884214188です。

例えば、That the earth is round is clear now. などの様に文頭にthatが来るような文章が、とある日本語のサイト(英語を教えるサイトではない)で例文として挙げられていました。私はこの文章に違和感を覚えました。 Googleで検索した限りでは、同じ文章が数十件出てきたので、単純に文法的に間違いではないのかもしれませんが、このようなthatが最初に来る文章を英語の文章であまり見た記憶もありません。 もっとも、that節が文頭に来ることはいいと思います。しかし、文頭に来た場合は、thatを取るほうが良いのではないのだろうか？と思うのです。 つまり (1)That the earth is round is clear now. ではなく (2)The earth is round is clear now. の方がベターに思うのです。 このような文章を仮にネイティブが見たとして、ネイティブはどちらを自然に感じるのでしょうか？もしくは「thatで始まる文章はよく見るよ」などの情報が得られたらと思って、質問させていただきました。

市販の大学ノートの表紙に以下のような文章が書かれているのですが，よく意味が分かりません． Ｉt is up to your passion and sense that it is not so to manage this book. 「このノートをどう扱うかはあなたの情熱とセンス次第」という意味かなと思ったのですが，that以下の「it is not so to」の部分がよくわからず，もやもやしています．全体として強調構文であることは わかりますが，前述のとおり文の構造が不明です．教えて頂けないでしょうか．
