How many xxxx have you had so far? これまでいくつのｘｘｘがあった？ これはどちらかというと「今まで忘年会に何回行ったのか？」になります。 （ただし、メモ帳を見ながら言っている様なケースでは ”どれくらいの予定が入ったか？”という意味も持ちます） 今時点で（まだ参加していない）忘年会がいくつあるのか？という事ですから How many year-end parties are you planning to go? すでに５つの忘年会に行く予定になっている I already have 5 parties to go. むしろ質問者様の例のケースでは「現時点で予定がだれだけ埋まったか」・・・という事かと思います その場合の言い方なら現在完了でもOKです。 How many year-end parties have you booked to go so far? I have already booked 5 to go. 断り方にある I could not attend the party you invite me. ですとすでに招かれたのか、今招かれているのか、今後招かれるのかが曖昧です。また I could not attend でも相手との関係次第ではある意味丁寧ですが、以下がよりしっくりきます。そして忘年会はattendというよりもっとカジュアルに go で十分です。 So, unfortunately it looks like I cannot go to the party you invited me. So, unfortunately, I may have to turn down your invitation. So, unfortunately, I don't think I can make it. So, unfortunately, it looks difficult to go to your party. 等など

★少し論理性を欠いていると思います。 まず、最初の疑問文は、これまでに幾つ忘年会がありましたか？ということです。 すでに５つあったということであり、これからはないかもしれません。だから、出席できないというのでは、論理的ではありません。たとえば、これから５も忘年会があって、それで時間がとれないとか、あるいは５つもあったので、お金をたくさん使ってしまい、金欠で出られないというのならわかります。 英語として添削すれば以下のようになります。 How many year-end parties have you had so far? I've already had five year-end parties. So unfortunately I couldn't attend the party you have invited me. さらにcouldn't は丁寧な断り方と考えてよろしいでしょうか？ →その通りです。また、このcouldn'tは過去に出席できなかったという意味にもなり得ます。 お金がなくてことわるのでしたら、 I've had five year-end parties and paid a lot of money. So unfortunately, I don't think I could attend another party.とか言えばいいと思います。 あるいはこれからパーティーが５つある（文面からするとそうではないでしょうが）とすれば、 I'm going to attend five year-end parties by December and I don't think I can't attend any more year-end parties. などと言えると思います。 以上、ご参考になればと思います。

たとえば・・ 「まだ夕飯食べないでね」「え、もう食べてしまった・・（I had already eaten.）」 「これ買わないほうがいいよ」「え、もう買ってしまった・・（I had already bought）」 「この問題はまだやらないでください」「もうやってしまいました・・（I had already done）」 I should have done とも迷いましたが、「しなきゃよかった」は反射的に出る言葉としてはちょっと違和感があります（一度状況を飲み込んでからの言葉だと思います）。 もしよろしければこの質問にも答えていただければ幸いです 「やっぱりこの問題難しいですよね、私も迷いました」 ”やっぱり”と”迷った”という表現がどうにも難しくて "I also couldn't understand. This one was more difficult than other question." と言いましたが…もっと適切な回答はありますでしょうか。

もしも私から何かを口にしていたのなら終わりが見えてる、始まりなんかじゃなかったはずだね の英訳で次のような文が書かれていたのですが、これでいいのでしょうか。 If I had said something , then we probably wouldn't have had the sort of beginning where we could already see the end. これだと、 If I had said something , then we probably wouldn't have had [the sort of beginning where we could already see the end]. 「もしも私から何かを口にしていたのなら[終わりが見えてるような始まり]ではないだろう」という意味になるのでは？と不思議に思っているのですが、どうなのでしょうか。教えてください。

日本語に訳して下さい!'N SYNCというグループの「I drive myself crazy」という曲の歌詞なんですが(1)「Lying in your arms so close together」(2)「Didn't know just what I had」(3)「Just how good you where to me」(4)「I was such a fool I couldn't see it」この4つの歌詞の意味がどうしても分かりません。何となく分かるのもありますが納得出来ない訳になってしまいます…!誰か教えて下さい;(
