regarding はもともと書かれていない、ということでよろしいでしょうか? ならばおっしゃる通りです。 bring O up to date で「O を最新にする」で、 O が人間の場合、「人に最新の情報を与える・知らせる」という意味になり、 後に on ~「~について、関して」がよく来ます。 ここでは on の代わりに regarding ~「~に関して」が来ています。 ブライアンは新しいスーパーマーケット事業に関して最新の情報を与えたがっている。
