私なら、That's a good idea, but I have another one. と言うでしょうか。 "That's not a bad idea."と言わなくてもいい気がします。 私はよくeven though を使いますけどここではそぐわないですね。 「たとえ～であっても」という意味なので、こんな感じで使うといいのかなと思います。 Even though everyone likes your idea, I guess he would never like it.

That is not a bad idea, even though many people think it is (a bad idea). このように使うのなら、even thoughは使えます。 あるいは I agree to that plan even though I have a different suggestion. も言えるでしょう。 despite the fact thatということですから。 お示しの文は despite the fact that I have a different suggestion, であるなら、そのdifferent suggestionがあるのにもかかわらず私は同意するとか、私は別の提案を支持するとか、そういう文脈でないとーーつまり、that is not a bad ideaは１つのstatementであり、そこにI have a different suggestionを持ってきても、それは対立的ではなく、両方とも成り立つこともあるので、even thoughは使えませんね。 以上、ご参考になればと思います。

Well, there are times when the sea is nearly still, though no doubt even when it looks like glass there are waves in it too small for us to see.But the sea is always moving, even so much that our eyes can see it, simply because the air above it is moving. この英文のeven so much...のevenを、どのように考えたらいいのか、どのように訳したらいいのか、分かりません。 「しかし、ただ海上で風が動いているという理由で、海は常に目で見えるほど動いている。」 前文からの繋がりで、波が見えないほど海が静かだなんてことはねーけどな！的なことを意味してるとは分かったのですが、evenが付いてることがよく分からなくて困ってます。 でさえ、とか、までも、という意味を当てはめても何だか訳がわかりません。

２つ質問させて下さい。 １、しかし、もっと大切なことは、自分の行動に責任を持ち、人に迷惑をかけない常識を身につけることである。 But,a more important factor is to be responsible for what you do and to have enough common sense that doesn't bother other people. 参考書の解答例では、factor→thing。andが結ぶものがto have→have。enough common sense that～→ enough common sense not to～。になっていましたが、私の解答でも問題はないでしょうか？ ２、彼は小説を２冊貸してくれたが、どちらもまだ読んでいません。この2週間、試験準備で忙しかったからです。 Even though he lent me two novels, I have not read either of them because I have been busy studying for exam for two weeks. 参考書の解答例では、even thoughでなく、butでつなぎ（novels,but)、becauseでなく一つの文としてthem. I haveとなっていましたが、私の解答でも問題はないでしょうか？

英文解釈の問題なのです。 What is an idea? It is not just a word, nor is it a string of words. Words are performing their highest function when they express ideas, but they do not constitute the ideas they express. This is clearly shown by the fact that different persons all using the same word may not have the same comprehension of the idea which that word express. but 以下のthey do not constitute 以下なのですが、訳はできるのですが、意味がいまいちはっきりとわかりません。いったいどういうことを述べているのでしょうか。英語力のあるかた、よろしくお願いいたします。

昨日お聞きしたのですが、もう一度よろしくお願いします。 Indeed,they often feel like a man lost deep in the forest ; he can see the trees, but not even the forest as a whole. （大学受験の英文読解の透視図p2） このevenの用法にお聞きしましたところ僕がeverと間違って書いているのだと解釈してnot ever = neverと教わりました。 しかし、この本には確かにnot evenと書いてあります。この本が単に誤字をしているのか、それともevenの特殊な使用法なのかわかりません。どなたかよろしくお願いします。

Indeed,they often feel like a man lost deep in the forest:he can see the trees,but not even the forest as a whole. において he can't see the trees,and not even the forestもしくは he can see the trees,and even the forest という 並列されている単語にどちらにもnotがついているorどちらにもついていない文なら evenは～すら、～までも で訳せます ですが一番上の文はどう訳すべきか分かりません 理由とともに教えてください 模範訳は 「森は見え"ても"森全体は見えないのである」 でしたが「ても」がevenに対応するのですか？

Even thoughは、やはり文頭が適切ですよね。 副詞thoughは「でも、やっぱり」と挿入的に文中に置くことができると辞書にあったので質問しました。 納得です。 ありがとうございます。
