英文の意味を教えて下さい
"A second level of backup for variable files taken on a less frequent basis should be kept off line on removable media." 顧客に出荷する装置付属PCの保守に関して、客先からの要求仕様書に書かれてありました。データのバックアップをどのように取るべきかが指示されている様なのですが、いまいち意味が分かりません。 以下の様に訳したのですが、訳が間違っているためか内容がよく掴めません。 「低頻度でのバリアブルファイル（可変長ファイル）のセカンドレベルのバックアップは、リムーバルメディア上ではオフラインに保たれなければなりません。」 おおまかな意味としては、「リムーバルメディアに可変長ファイルのバックアップを保存する場合は、ネットワークを切り離しておかないといけない」、といった様な感じの意味となるのでしょうか？ "A second level of backup"がどんな意味になるのか分からず、またこの一文の前後にもこれといった説明がありませんでした。バックアップのやり方に幾つかレベルがあって、その2番目のレベルと考えるのが妥当でしょうか。もしくはそれ以外の意味があるのでしょうか。 ご教授いただけると助かります。よろしくお願い致します。

Googleでsecond level backupで検索すると、the second level of backup I have is DVDs. という文章が出てきました。 てことは、バックアップの第一の手段としてオンライン上で保管する、第二の手段としてリムーバブルメディアに保管する、みたいな感じじゃないでしょうか。
