John has (as)(much)(money) as Betty. 2、( )内の語句を正しく並び替えなさい。 1、My brother eats (twice as much as me). 2、Fred has only (half as many CDs as) Bill. 上が正解です。 >>< many/much +名詞> これがわからないってどういう意味ですかね… < many/much +名詞> で「多くの(多数の)名詞」という意味です。 manyは数えられる名詞に使う 例)book,apple,notebook... muchは数えられない名詞に使う 例)information,money... という違いです。 また、so/as/to/how の4つは順序が (so/as/to/how)＋形容詞＋(a)＋名詞 となります。 だから、今回は形容詞の部分が、much,manyになっており、 < many/much +名詞> の順序になっているというわけです。 上記のようでなくとも、名詞＋形容詞はあり得ないですから、そうなりますよ。

This stone is (twice as heavy as) that one. これはtwiceという表現が、比較表現(as～as)を修飾していますよね？ これは分かるんですが、 Tom has collected (twice as many stamps as) I have. これは、その間にstampsという名詞が入ってきただけですか？

次の文を原級をを用いて書き換えなさい。と言う中学の問題です。 John has more books than Dick. 自分は Dick has books as many as John. としたのですが、 模範解答では Dick dosen't have as many books as John. となっていました。 分からないことのひとつは not as ～ as・・・ ＝ 「・・・程～ない」 を使うと意味が ディックはジョン程多くの本は持っていない。と言う違う意味になるのでは、と思うのです。 自分が、どこか根本的なところで間違っているのでしょうか。教えてください。理由も書いていただけると助かります。
