この場合 before = until なので どちらでもいい。 「2 until It may be many years before the situation improves. It was some time before I realized the truth. （http://oald8.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/dictionary/before_2）」 以上、参考まで。

中級の書き換え問題です。＿＿部分に、outを使って(1)の文を(2)に書き換えるというものです。 (1) It was already too late when I discovered the truth. (2) I didn't _________________it was too late. 問題集に書いてある空欄の答えは、find out the truth until です。 find out the truth は特に問題ありませんが、 このuntil の箇所を beforeに置き換えることは可能でしょうか？また可能ではない場合はその理由も教えていただけたら大変助かります。 すみませんが、どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

I waited for an hour until he came. ---(1) I waited for an hour before he came. ----(2) I had waited for an hour until he came.---(3) I had waited for an hour before he came. ---(4) 以上の文において正しくナチュラルな英文はどれで、そうでないのはどれなんでしょうか？ 過去分詞は特に時制を差別化するとき以外は使わなくていいんでしたよね。だから３も４も大丈夫では？

untilはいままで「～まで」という概念で使っていたのですが、it was'nt until after the plane had landed that the fire started.という文章が出て来たときにうまく訳せなくなってしまったのですが、訳と、考え方とコツがあるのでしょうか？頭から順を追っていくと「それは・じゃなかった・飛行機が上陸するまで・火が始まったのが」ですが、やっぱり上手に文章を作ろうとしてもうまくいきません。どなたか教えてください。よろしくお願いします
