文法構造がわかりません
アメリカ人が書いた文章で 「It can help people develop joy in work and learning at the same time that it brings about long-term success.」 というのがあります。 前半部分は直訳すると「それは人々が仕事の中で楽しみをもつのを助ける」というのはわかるのですが、andからあとの文章構造がわかりません。 「it can help people learning」 となるのですが？ thatの後のitは何をさしているのですか？ よろしくお願いします。

thatは関係副詞じゃないですか？先行詞はtimeの。He cursed the day that he was bornのthatと同じ。 「それは人々が労働と学問の中で同時に、より楽しみを見出すことを助ける。そしてそのように楽しむことは長期間の成功をもたらす」と訳せばいいと思うんですが、なんでworkをworkingにしないのか、あるいはなぜlearningをlearnにそろえないのかは分かりません。 力不足でごめんなさい。

thatのあとのitはjoyだと思います。

なるほど！という感じです。ところで、この場合のthatはどういう使われ方をしているのでしょう？関係代名詞ではないですよね？
１です。 間違えました。 もう少し考えてから投稿します。
workとlearningが並んでるんだと思います。つまり、in work and learningです。

４つ質問あります。 ●1つ目 書き換え問題です。 I'm afraid that his story might be false. ↓ I'm afraid of his story being false. というのがあるんですが、might be がなぜbeingで置き変えれるんでしょうか。ofの後だからing形式をとってきたって意味では理解できますが・・。 ●２つ目 「～せずにはいられない」は「can't help～」ですが、 「～を助けることができない」はどうなるんでしょうか。 ●3つ目 Tom and Cathy haven't been married two months. って文のtwo monthsの直前に何もないのはOKなんでしょうか。前置詞がないからシックリきません。 ●4つ目 It gave me a stinging sense of what it was to want and not to have.の文法構造が掴めません・・。

It may be that we can best help own pupils by showing them that reading has many porpuses and can take many forms, that reading fiction is just one form and possibly the escapism that often accompanies it is merely one purpose. カンマとその後にあるandは、カンマ以前の文章とカンマ後からand前、and後から最後までを繋げていると考えても良いですか？ そうすると、このthatは文法的に言うと何ていうthatでしょうか？ 上記のandの接続が合っていたとしたら、最後のand以降の文章だけ訳せないので説明をお願い致します。 少し長い文章だと思いますので、そこだけ訳して説明をしてくだされば助かります。 よろしくお願いします。
