英語の仮定法について
英文 In your place,you would not belive such a foolish story. 訳 私の立場なら、あなたはとても怒っただろう。 とありますが、 私の立場なら、あなたはとても怒るだろう。 と、訳しても大丈夫ですか？

You needn't have bought such a large house. Your wife would have been quite happy in a smaller house. 後半は仮定法過去完了の文らしいのですが、 would be quite happy...としては間違いでしょうか？ If he had not been sick, he could have played soccer . この文みたいに仮定法の公式にピタリと当てはまっているのであれば 分かり易いんですが,上に挙げた物はIf節すら無いので どういう意図で仮定法を用いたのか判り兼ねます。

I'd have been just as angry in your place. という文章がありました。 前文では、相手を誤解していた人が謝罪し、それに対し、謝罪された人が相手を許す場面です。 おそらく訳としては「あなたの立場なら私も怒っていたよ」みたいな感じになると推定しています。 ここで分からないのは、asの使い方です。 would have beenから、仮定法だと思うのですが、このasは文法的に説明するとどのような役割を持っているのでしょうか？ 元の文が If I had been in your place , I'd have been just angry.だと考えています。 ここからasが入ると、どうして[I'd have been just as angry in your place.]となるのか、説明いただけますでしょうか？ よろしくお願いします。

お世話になります。 下記の文について If you took a trip to beijing in the past couple of days, you would not have liked what you saw. （北京を訪れたのなら、この数日間に、きっと好ましくない光景を目にしたことだろう） If you took a trip to bejing...、は, If you had taken a trip to beijing と仮定法過去完了になるべきではないのでしょうか。 もしくは、 you would not have liked what you saw を you would not like what you saw と仮定法過去になるのかなと思ったりもします。 nativeが話しているセリフでしたので、口語的にこういう言い回しもあるのか、単なる本人の間違いなのかがよくわかりません。。。 時制の感覚が混ざってしまい、混乱しております。ご説明していただけると大変うれしいです。 どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

(1)If I were you,I would not have said such a nonsense. (僕が君ならそんな馬鹿げたことは言わなかっただろう) if節で仮定法過去完了が用いられていないのは “私=君ではない”という事実が過去から現在まで 引き継がれているからですが、 下記の例文が上と同じパターンだというのが 何故なのか理解出来ません。 (2)If she were clever,she wouldn't have made a mistake like that. (彼女が利口な人間ならそのような間違いはしなかっただろうに) (1)が現在においても当てはまる事実というのは分かります。 (人格の入れ替わり等起こるはずがないので) しかし(2)の場合は彼女が改心して 今ではあの様なミスをしない人間になった というケースも十分考えられると思いますし、 どうして今も利口じゃないと 決めつけられるのだろうかと煮詰まってしまいました。 投稿日時 - 2013-05-11 17:28:55
