It did to meの訳し方
先生にあることを言われて心が軽くなった少年の話です 少年が、その「あること(=it)」を友人に説明しています "Well.. The thing is, it might sound strange. It did to me at first." 翻訳では、"it did to me" が 「最初、何てことを言うんだと思った」、と訳されています。 このdid to me とは、何かが省略されているのでしょうか？ よろしくご教授ください

The thing is, it might sound strange. 要は，おかしいな，と思いかねないようなことなんだ。 このあること it は，普通には strange と聞こえかねない。 そして，It did to me at first. It sounded strange to me at first. 実際，私にも，最初はおかしいと思えた。 そういうなんてことだ，と思えるようなことを先生は言って， それがよく考えると，結局は心を軽くしてくれるようなことだった。

あ、今、下の方の回答を拝見して、そうですね、この場合、すぐ手前の文章のことを指しているんですね。 「おかしく響くかもしれないけど、 （事実）僕にはまず変に響いたんだけど、 ・・・・ 」 なるほど。的確なご回答だと思います。

その前の文章にあるはずです。 たとえば If you have this ring, it eases your feelings. Well, it might sound strange, but it did to me. このリングをもっていれば、心が癒されるんだよ（心を癒してくれるんだよ）。 おかしいと思われるかもしれないけど、実際に僕には起こったんだよ（リングが僕を癒した）。 日々普通に使ういいかたで、そのさきの話に動詞があるはずです。 あなたが読まれている本がなんのお話しかわかりませんが、少し前からよく読んでみてください。 翻訳は、かなり前後をまとめて、日本人の言葉の感覚にあわせて訳されていますので、その部分だけの訳をピックアップしても意味をなしません。

It did to me at first. という文の直前に it might sound strange という文があるので、その did は sound を置き換えたものと見ることができそうです。つまり It sounded strange to me （妙なことをいうなぁと思えた） というふうに理解すればどうでしょう。 ただし全体としては 「つまりだなぁ、妙に聞こえるかもしれないけどさ、初めは何を言ってんだって思ったんだ」 のような感じの文かと思います。

中学生でも習うIt for toの構文で、 It is interesting for me to learn English.などの文章は間違っていますか？ ある問題集でinteresting to meが正しいとありました。でも、中学生の文法問題集で、interesting for usなどと書かせる問題もあります。 interesting to meとなるのは例えば （１）The book is interesting to me.で、 for meとなるのは （２）It is interesting for me to read the book.の構文の時、とかでしょうか？？ 今回初めて interesting to meとなる、という記述を見てびっくりしました。 interesting の用法について、教えてください。
