私も英語にそれほど強い訳ではないですが、英単語で困った時に頼りにしているのは、英和辞典ではなく、英英辞典です。 ご存知のよいに、英単語と日本語の単語は１対１にならないものが多いです。 日本語には無い言葉とか、その逆もあります。 日本語では１つの単語しかないのに、英語ではニュアンスによって複数の単語が存在するものもあります。 また、質問文でも分かるように、一つの英単語でも色々な日本語訳のできるものがあります。 従って、私は、無理に１つに和単語に訳さないようにしています。 単語を訳すのではなく、文全体の意味を訳さないと通じなくなるからです。 「singer（歌手）」と「Vocalist（歌手）」の違いも英和辞典では出てきませんが、明確な使い分けがあります。 さて、ご質問の件ですが、英英辞典で調べると、「more」は、 a larger or extra number or amount です。単純に考えると、「ある数以上」ですね。 「others」は、同じように英英辞典で調べると、 the second of two things or people, or the thing or person that is left in a group or set of things となります。 質問のサンプルでは２番目の意味で使われていると思います。 従って、「以上」と訳すと意味が違ってくると思います。 サンプルは、「13人が殺されて、それ以外に6000人の負傷者が出た」と訳すのが良いのではないでしょうか？
