英作文の添削をお願いします
1時間も歩いたら死んでしまうんじゃないかと思った I thought if I walked 1 hour I would be almost die. としてみたんですが過去の仮定の表現がよくわかりません これでいいでしょうか？

I thought if I had walked for 1 hour I would have died. かな？ あまり 自信ありませんが・・・。

Of course, with my family I can save a lot of money : in fact It costs a lo t of money to live by myself . However,with by myself I would be free to use the time for myself such as shopping ,reading .,relaxing...and so on. I would also can independent of my family and grow as human . For example, I would try to make some food and manage to get earnings . On the other hand, I would freely can't use the time if I lived with my family, because my parents worry about me when I be in out till being late at night. Would you mind if ～？ Would it be all right if ～？ It would be nice if ～？ I'd appreciate it if ～？ など、if 以下に仮定法過去が続く表現についておうかがいします。 このwouldは通常、どう説明されているのでしょうか。 たとえば、Would you mind if I smoked?の場合、 １．if 以下、つまり、タバコを吸うのを「ありえない話」と話し手が仮定している → あたりまえにタバコを吸うことを前提としていないから丁寧な表現になる ２．If I smoked にはまったく関係なく、would自体に相手と距離を置く意味がある、言い換えれば、言外に「もしこういうことを言って許されるのでしたら・・・」というもうひとつの if節 がある。 ３．いずれでもなし 私の考えは、仮定法の基本公式「if＋Ｓ＋過去形、Ｓ＋would, should, could, might～」の通りであることから１、と思ったのですが、通常、このwouldはどう説明されることが多いのか、気になりました。 教えていただければと思います。

(1) He thought first about what would be best for the family. この would は単に will を過去形にした物ですか？ また、first を thought の前に持って来ることはできますか？ 辞書には副詞は一般動詞の前か、be動詞、助動詞の前と書いてあったのですが・・・ (2) In a similar situation an American would expect to decide what job would be best for himself or herself. (1)が前文です 辞書には if節に相当する表現として、with,without等があると書いてあったのですが、この In a similar situation も同じ部類ですか？ またif節等が無くても仮定法は成り立ちますか？ 例えば 「私が君ならこうするよ」と言う文は If I were you, I would do like this. みたいな感じだと思うのですが、 単に「私ならこうするよ」と言う意味で I would do like this. とできますか？ やはり If が無かったら普通の文になってしまいますか？ よろしくお願いします。
