アメリカに３５年ほど住んでいる者です。 私なりに書かせてくださいね。 まず、明らかにしなくてはならないことは、beingと言う単語を忘れてはならない、と言う事です. つまり、直訳すると（原文を学校文法に基づいて辞書的な意味で日本語にすると）日本のクールと言われるもの多くはアングラ的になるとか、何か普通でないような事の一部になることです.なります. お分かりでしょうか. つまり、cherryさんが言っておられる、「英語を和訳するのは 英語にアプローチする際の手段であって英文を理解するのとは違います。訳せなくても意味が解ればいいのです。」と言う事なんですね. それが、「のような意味ととってもいいのでしょうか」と言う事なんですね. 英語を理解すると言う事を、英語圏の人に言うと、彼らにとっては、別の言い方で言うと、と言う事なんですね. 訳すのではなく、フィーリングを掴む、と言う事なんですね. フィーリングさえ掴めば、いろいろな英文が出来、その英文を違った英文で表現できる、と言う事なんですね. それが、理解する、と言う事です. ですから、この文章を、こう書けばわかると想います. Much of Japanese cool is about being "different" from ordinary people, for example, being underground or being part of something extraordinary.と言うような文章になるかもしれませんね. exclusiveとは、排他的でいいのですが、チョット違う、どちらかと言うと、専門的、専門的に見せる、普通とは違う、と言う意味でここでは使われているように思います. つまり、レストランであれば、普通ではなく変わった店、今までは「まさか」と言われそうな店作り、と言う感じですね. もっと、身近な例とすれば、「こだわり」です. 「板長」が小さなことにこだわるから、この店はいい、とよく言われますね. 一日限定２００杯しか作らない、いかにも商売根性無しのラーメン屋. とか、いう事ですね. つまり、閉鎖的な、とか、矛盾する、とかいうフィーリングも入りますね. アングラ調になることもこのレベルのフィーリングですね. と言う事で、この文章のフィーリングは、何か今までとは違った、矛盾とも言われるような事をする事が、流行っているみたいです.ということになるわけです. 訳すとなると、今度は、日本語の語学力を問われますので、私にはできませんが、人それぞれの言い回しは出来ると思います. これでいかがでしょうか。 分かりにくい点がありましたら、補足質問してください。

These are wrong: I am of wealth. Everest is of much snow. 前置詞“of”が”a woman of twenty-eight”のような形でつかわれるのは、主語（名詞）の後ろに２つの名詞（意味を補助する関係にある）が続いた場合だけです。 1つの代名詞または1つの名詞が文の主語となる名詞の意味を補助をするために“of”が使われることはありません。つまり下記の英文は間違いです。

お世話になります。よろしくお願いします。 英熟語の勉強をしているのですが、訳で分からない所があり、困っています。 ちょうどページの真ん中辺りの「boil down to」の項目の https://www.learn4good.com/languages/evrd_phrasal/phrasal-b.htm 「When a situation, question or issue boils down to something else, this is the most important thing.
