英語についての質問です 問題が難しくて解けないので よかったら教えてください 中２～高１の範囲です！ 空欄に適当な語を入れるという問題です Cats have long been aimals( )have been kept by humans. They were first used by the Egyptians to protect their food. The Egyptians soon thought of cats as( )animals. However,there were people( )did not like cats. Even today,people still wonder about their ( ). Cats try to make people feel( )when they are anxious. <訳例> 猫は長く人間によって飼われてきた（ところの）動物である。猫は、最初食べ物を守るためにエジプト人によって使われた。エジプト人は、すぐに猫が（役に立つ）動物だと考えた。しかし、猫が好きではない（ところの）人たちもいた。今日でさえ、人々はまだ自分たちの（猫）に驚く。猫は、人々が心配事があるとき、人々を（幸せな）気持ちにさせようとする。猫は、（柔軟な）体、頬髯、大きな目を持つ動物である。人間は、今日でも、猫に魅力を感じる。 括弧内に関係詞が入る所は、（ところの）と訳しましたが、実際は省いてもらって結構です。 <解答例> 順に、which(that), useful, who(that), cats, happy, flexible <注> 最後の2つは easy (feel easy ：安心する）, furry(毛でフワフワした）等も候補に考えられます。 PS. 前回Q.6444790の訳で一行飛ばしてしまいました。訂正します。申し訳ありません。 <第2段落4行目> 時々遊んでいる猫たちが突然寝そべって眠ってしまうことがある。

The climate in southern Europe had a Siberian coldness then, and summers were nearly as cold as European winters are today. In those difficult times, resourcefulness and inventiveness must have been of great value. Which individual first thought of stripping the fur from dead animals to wrap around hi body? In every generation, the individuals with strength, courage, and creativity were the ones more likely to survive the Ice Age; those who were less resourceful fell victim to the climate and their numbers were reduced. They were naked and defenseless against the cold, as some little mammals had been defenseless against the dinosaurs one hundred million years before. Facing the pressure of a hostile world, both those mammals and humans were forced to live by their wits; and both became, in their time, the most intelligent animals of the day. 和訳をお願いします 長くなってすみません(>_<) Our next opinion was sent in by Mark Navarrone, who writes: Pets make great companios, and that's the main reason why more than half of household in the United States have pets today, but there are also a number of problems associated with pet ownership. It would be great if everyone were responsible, but unfortunately many people don't take good care of their pets. Some people allow their pets to run loose in the neighborhood orabandon them when they move. Many people also fail to take measures to prevent their dogs or cats from reproducing. This lends to the birth of many unwanted puppies and kittens, which often end up at animal shelters or, even worse,are simply dumped in rural areas. These irresponsible pet owners are a big problem. There must be strict penalties for the abandonment of animals.

It was where you came if you wanted to see the future. In its dozens of steam-powered cotton mills, the rural immigrants got their first taste of a new world. The change must have been astonishing - the noise, the energy. This was a real revolution in the pace of life, a rupture in history. Places like this would change Britain beyond recognition. Today, Queen Street Mill is the last of its kind to survive intact. But the paintings of the time told a quite different story. Pictures of workers were rare and, frankly, rose-tinted. These factory girls are having a jolly time buying dresses. You can hardly see the factory itself. And here are some workers at a spinning mill on their lunch break. Unlike some of their real-life counterparts, they all seem to have a full set of fingers. One does have a bare feet, but look how spotless they are - there's not a speck of dirt on the women, their clothes, or indeed the entire yard. Even the chimneys are puttering out genteel little wisps of smoke. This was art designed to reassure anxious clients. Wealthy Victorians, the kind who bought paintings, found the new cities deeply unsettling. Never before had they seen so many people massing together. Manchester natives must have felt they were being swallowed up by some alien beast. If you'd been born, say in the 1770s, you began life in a town of about 20,000 people. By the time you were in your late 20s, the population had trebled. And if you were lucky enough to make it into your 70s, the city was 15 times larger.
