one は前にある，a wood なり，a forest なり「森」のような語を受けているのでしょう。 in which とあれば，which を先行詞に置き換える。 in the forest the trees are between ten and fifty years old 本来なら the trees are between ten and fifty years old in the forest という語順だったのが，in which が前に出た。 「その森では，木々は10～15歳である」 この内容で先行詞 one を修飾していることになります。 「（その中では，その中にある）木々が10～15歳であるような森」 the trees are between ten and fifty years old という部分と先行詞 the forest をつなげるのに in が必要。 このような前置詞がある場合，後ろからかけて訳そうとするとどうしても無理が生じるので，英語の理解としては前からぶった切る。 森，その中では，木々は10～15歳である ただ，in which の which は先行詞を受けていると理解しておくことです。

質問いたします。 In the scene in which conference interpreters are given a 15-minute break, one of them says "we can grab a sandwich". 上の文で、"In the scene in which" ですが、分解すると "Conference interpreters are given a 15-minute break in the scene"と、もうひとつは"This is "が省略されていて "This is in the scene."になるのでしょうか？ 2つに分解した場合、どのようになるのかわかりません。 よろしくご教示ください。
