- 英文の訳し方について困っています。特に英文法で分からないところがあります。
- 自分の訳した文に自信が持てず、正しい訳かどうか不安です。
- 博識なネイティブの方の英文ですが、自分には理解できていない状態です。詳しい方に教えていただきたいです。

以下の英文を訳したいのですが、英文法で分からないところがあり、調べてみたのですがはっきりしません。「多分こんな感じ」というくらいにしか訳せず確信が持てないのは英語を全く理解できていない証拠だと言いますが、まさに自分はそのような状態です。 どなたか詳しい方、ご教授いただけないでしょうか。どうぞ宜しくお願い致します。 （英文自体は博識なネイティブの方のもので、間違いはないと思います） “If therefore, perfectly legitimately, it would seem, filed a nonuse cancellation action, so as to have those registrations removed from the register.” 「そのため、たとえ完全に合法的であるにしても、それらの登録を登録から取り消すために不使用取消請求が出されたようである。」 ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----- ↓自分の頭の中。こういう風に考えて訳しました。これでいいのでしょうか？ ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----- (1)副詞節 （If therefore, perfectly legitimately,） ・therefore は倒置だろう。 ・if perfectly legitimately： if ＋副詞要素という形の省略形では、ifは譲歩（even if）の意味を表すのが普通（？） ＝（訳）そのため、たとえ完全に合法的であるにしても (2)主節 （it would seem, filed a nonuse cancellation action, so as to have those registrations removed from the register.） ・なぜ filed の前にカンマが？ この文は普通に続けていいのだろうか？分からないのでとりあえずよしとしよう。 ＝（訳）それらの登録を登録から取り消すために、不使用取消請求が出されたようである。

“If therefore, perfectly legitimately, it would seem, filed a nonuse cancellation action, so as to have those registrations removed from the register.” これは条件説のみの文ではないでしょうか。「もし～だったとしたら」の部分のみの文ということです。 で、主語は省略されていて、動詞がfiled ではないかと。 it would seem はその前のperfectly legitimately を受けての挿入句では。 「従って、それらの登記を登記簿から削除してもらうために、もしも完全に合法的に（そう思われるのだが）、不使用取り消し訴訟を起こしたとしたら」 if 節の中でも主語の省略なんてあるのかなと思ったのですが、"if went to" で検索したらこんなに使用例がありました。 http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=%22if+went+to%22&start=0&sa=N&fp=b36c7832dbb01be6

Looking back, we can assess the significance of past occurrences and trace the consequences they have brought in their train. But while history runs its course, it is not history to us. The reason is that it leads us into an unknown land but rarely can we get a glimpse of what lies ahead. Things would be different if we were allowed to live a second time through the same events with all the knowledge of what we have seen before. Of couse,it would be difficult to stay relaxed,because tickling causes tension for most of us,such as feelings of unease because of physical contact,the lack of control,and the fear of whether it will tickle or hurt. However,some people do not laugh when they are tickled―those who do not get tense for some reason. When you try to tickle yourself,you have complete (4)of the station. この英文の意味を教えて下さい。 Again, there are clues and stories that seem to be throwing some light. For instance, many kinds of birds are known to use star maps. In the early weeks of life the baby birds sit in their nets and study the night sky- and are somewhat confused if those early weeks are too cloudy. But they do not, as human amateur astronomers might do , spend their time learning the individual constellations - how to recognize Orion or trace the fanciful outline of Taurus, or whatever. Instead, they focus on the part that does not move as the night progress, which in the Northern Hemisphere means the North Star. They can see, if they look at it long enough, that as the night progresses, all the stars in the sky, including the mighty Orion and the notional Taurus, seem to revolve around the Pole Star, which sits in the middle like the central part of a giant cartwheel Once they recognize the central part, the most fundamental problem is solved. The creature that can do this knows where north is and everything else can be figured out. I don't know what the equivalent would be in the Southern Hemisphere, but undoubtedly there is one. Navigation simply does not seem to need the details of astronomy.
