微生物学の英語の和訳がわかりません。
前回も別の英文で聞いたのですが…また訳しにくい英文が出てきました。 However, most instances of transcriptional regulation are mediated by regulatory proteins, which bind specifically to the DNA adjacent to or overlapping the promoter site and alter RNA polymerase binding and transcription. ［訳］ しかし、転写調節の大部分の例は、調節タンパク質によって調停される。(この次が訳しにくく困ってます。) どうゆう風に訳せるかわかる方教えてください(>_<)

こんばんは。 このように訳してみました。 [試訳]しかし、転写調節の大部分の場合、調節タンパク質により、明確に隣接したり、プロモーター領域に重さなり合うDNAと結合し、RNAポリメラーゼの結合と転写に変える。 (mediated by は、「～より」とだけにしました。あえて訳すなら、「を媒介とし」)

しかし、ほとんどの場合転写調節は調節タンパクによって行われる 調節タンパクとはプロモーター領域上や近接部分のDNAに結合し、RNAポリメラーゼの結合や転写を変える みたいな感じでしょうか、かなり意訳ですが

Although important components of the mRNA export machinery are well characterized, such as transcription-export complexes TREX and TREX-2, recent work has shown that, in some instances, mammalian mRNA export can be selective and can regulate crucial biological processes such as DNA repair, gene expression, maintenance of pluripotency, haematopoiesis, proliferation and cell survival. Such findings show that mRNA export is an unexpected, yet potentially important, mechanism for the control of gene expression and of the mammalian transcriptome.

To further examine this idea and to rule out the possibility that these positions are used as SsrB binding sites, we analyzed the expression of an altered sseL promoter harboring both mutations in a phoP ssrB background complemented with PhoP or SsrB, provided in trans. In the presence of SsrB, this mutated promoter was readily able to induce sseL::lacZ expression, suggesting that SsrB does not bind to these sites. Whether or not a cell divided or becomes cancerous depends on the regulatory activity of proteins. という英文なのですが・・・ 辞書で単語の意味を調べたところ、 cancerousは形容詞で「ガンのような、ガンにかかった」、regulatoryは形容詞で「調節する～」だそうです。 文頭にWhether or notがきているので副詞節でも作るのかなぁ、と思ったのですが、 そうでもないみたいですし・・・ orの前が過去形（？）で後ろが現在形ですし・・・ もう本当にわけがわからないので どなたかわかる方・・教えてください・・ よろしくお願いします。。。
