こういう英語と関係ないひっかけ問題を出題する方に問題があると思います。 ここでは、やはり1)が正解でしょう。２）の場合は、リサーチをして事実を知らなくてはいけないとはありますが、それを基に話をしなさいとはありません。（そしたら、何のためのリサーチか？という疑問は残りますが）。日本語でも正解に白黒がつけにくい問題ですよね。ひねくれた出題者ですね。

さきほど「When do you a birthday？」は正しいですか？とお尋ねしたのですが、文章を間違えてしまったので再質問させていただきます。 「a」ではなく「are」でした。 息子が英語を取り入れた幼稚園に通っています。 そこで「今週、使う言葉はこれ」みたいなものがプリントに 書いてあるのですが、たびたび「When do you are birthday?」という 文章が出てきます。誕生日はいつか？と聞いていると 思うのですが、誕生日を尋ねる時は「When is your birthday？」だと 思っていました。でもいろんな言い方があるので、こういう言い方も あるのかな？と思っていたのですが、なぜdoが入るの？となんだか 違う気がして、翻訳機で訳したら「いつがあなたに誕生日をしますか?」 となりました。翻訳機はあまりあてにならないので、どうなのか 分かりませんが、実際にこういう言い方は正解なのでしょうか？ どうぞよろしくお願いします。

やはり「引っ掛け問題」なんでしょうか？２が正解というのはわかっているのですが、１が間違っているとも思えないのです。聴衆の前でいかに上手に演説するかという長文読解でこの例文では立候補者Ａの応援演説をする場合。その際、自分自身がこの候補者Ａの良さを充分納得してから演説しませんか？その「自分自身が納得する」という部分がパラグラフの最後の「you must do your research and know your facts」に表現されているとは取れないでしょうか？「your research」、「your facts」と 「あなたの」と2度も畳み掛けてくるのでそう思えてしまいます。これは4択問題でそのうち2つは完全にまちがい。のこった2つでかなり悩みました。
