英訳が難しい・・・
よろしくお願いします。 下記の日本語を、英語にしたいのですが 難しく、ニュアンスが伝わる形で英訳したいのですが 下記の（）のニュアンスをだしたいです。 アドバイスいただけないでしょうか・・・？ ”私は中学から今まで空手をずっと続けてきた 空手を通して自分（の心）を見つめているのだ。 自分は(長い間空手をしているが)未だに有段者ではない。 それは、黒帯を締められるほど、（空手を通して自分を律する）心が成熟していないからだ。(取ろうと思えば取れるが、あえてとらないのである) 空手に教わったこと、それは 勝つ心を持たないこと、負けない心を持つこと、という人生に対する姿勢である” 自分なりに英訳すると ”I have played KARATE since junior high school. I look at myself through playing KARATE. I have not yet had a black belt. Because I am not so matured that I have a black belt. I learned thorough KARATE an attitude that don't have will to win,have will not to lose." こんな形でつたわるのでしょうか？ アドバイスを頂ければと思います。

I have played KARATE since junior high school. →I have been studying karate since junior high school. 空手とplayは相性が悪いと思います。 study、learn、practiceなどの言葉の方がよいでしょう。 「ずっと続けてきた」というニュアンスであれば、現在完了進行形の方が感じが出ると思います。 I look at myself through playing KARATE. →I have been exploring myself through studying karate. これは色々な言い方があると思います。 私が思いついたのを書いてみました。 I have not yet had a black belt． Because I am not so matured that I have a black belt. → I have not gotton my black belt yet. I have not allowed myself to take the test because I am not mature enough for that. ご質問者の英語でもよいと思いますが、私なりの文章を書いてみました。 I learned thorough KARATE an attitude that don't have will to win,have will not to lose. → Through karate, I have learned an attitude toward life; we should not to try to win, but we have to try not to give in. ご質問者の文章の“an attitude that don't have will to win・・・”のところは、文法的に少し変です。 無理に一文で言おうとせずに、２つの分に分けてしまえば、簡単になります。

つらいことばかりでなく、いいこともあるよ。 このような文の場合、思いつくのがnot only but alsoです。 例えば、「マラソン大会までの、あと２週間は減量の為、炭水化物などを食べられないのがつらいですが、終われば達成感を味わえます。だからがんばろう。」 この文の英訳を友達と話す感覚でおしえていただけないでしょうか？ ちなみに自分のスキルでは以下が精一杯です。（通用しますでしょうか？） I have to put up with diet for another two weeks such as avoiding carbohydrate. Not only painful but also I will be able to get a sense of accomplishment. So we will make any efforts until the race. 何卒、ご指導をお願いいたします。
