こんにちは☆ 二種類に分けて説明しますね（＾＾) 「hundred of(何百もの)」や「thousand of(何千もの)」のように、ofが付くと、訳し方が変わるものがあるんです。 もしこれに of がないとすると・・・ 「hundred years ago(100年前)」「thousand years ago(千年前)」となってしまうのです。 この文の場合、「千年前」の話ではなくて、もーっと大昔の、「何千年も前」の話ですから、 of が必要になりますよね(＾▽＾)。 こんな説明で分かるかな！？ 英語には、決まった言い回しがあるものが多いから、こういう使い方を覚えておくとすごく便利ですよ♪ 勉強頑張ってください！

「あの橋は何年前に建設されたのですか」を How many years ago was that bridge built ？ としたのですが 解答では How many years ago was the bridge built ？ と the が使われていました。 この場合 that ではなく the を使うべきなのでしょうか。よろしくお願いします。
