これについては、２通りの説明ができます。 １）専門的見地から。 see to it that S V は「予戒・用意・配慮の名詞節」とされ、 that節内の動詞は、本来、【仮定法現在】つまり【動詞の原形】を用いることになっていました。 → I will see to it that everything be ready in time. ※ is ではなく be になっている点に着目！ このような例は、19世紀あたりまでよく見られます。 ところが、【仮定法現在】という文法項目は20世紀に入って急速に廃れ、現在形で代用されるようになってきたのです。 → I will see to it that everything is ready in time. 蛇足ですが、これは、戦前の教科書なんかで、 → If it be fine tomorrow, （もし明日晴れならば） と、仮定法現在を使って言っていたものが、現在では → If it is fine tomorrow, （もし明日晴れならば） となっているのに通ずるものがあります。 ２）慣用という点から。 言葉には、話者の心理が反映されます。will be を使った場合、それが遠い先に実現されるイメージがぬぐえないまま残ります。 今回の例文のように、きちんと実現させます、というような意味の英文で、未来形であるべきものが現在形になることは珍しくないです。 次の二文。離ればなれの恋人が語っていると思って比べてください。 Ａ： Close your pretty eyes, and you can be with me. （かわいい目を閉じてごらん、君とぼくは一緒にいるよ） Ｂ： Close your pretty eyes, and you will be able to be with me. （かわいい目を閉じてごらん、君とぼくは一緒にいられるでしょう） そんなわけで、see to it that S V の構文では、that節内で will が使われることはあまりないと思います。

辞書にあった例文で Look (to it)that everything is ready というのがありました。（）は省略可の意味。万事用意できるように気をつけなさい、という訳でした。ここで Look that everything is readyとみると、thatは「～ということ」を表している目的語ということでいいのでしょうか。that＝everything is readyでよいですか？また（）内を省略せずにLook to it that everything is ready とするとit=that=everything is readyということになるのでしょうか？何か変な感じがするのですが。itのすぐ後にthatが来てる所が。どなたかわかられる方、アドバイスお願いします。

こんにちは。教えてください。 たとえば、 She met Tom in this park yesterday. という文の「in this park」を強調しようとした場合、 It is in this park that she met Tom yesterday. It was in this park that she met Tom yesterday. どちらが正しいのでしょうか？ とある教材には、「元の文が現在ならIt is、過去ならIt wasとします」と書いてありました。これは、時制の一致のような感覚なのでしょうか。 しかし、別の教材の例文では、必ずしもそのようなことはないようです。 私個人としては、話し手の意識によって「両方アリ」なのではないかと思うのですが。 それと、「時制を合わせろ」というなら、未来の場合はどうなるのでしょう？ She will meet him in this park tomorrow.は、 It will be in this park that she will meet him tomorrow. としなければならないのでしょうか？ 何か違和感がありますが。やはり、 It is in this park that she will meet him tomorrow. の方がふつうではないかという気がします。 みなさん、どうかご教示ください。

時制に関して質問がございます。 以下の文は、「中国に行くと東京タワーが見えない」と言う 事実を説明しているので現在形でいいと思います。 If I go to Chaina, I can't see the Tokyo tower. では、ある映画が来月上映予定でその頃中国に行くと その映画は見れないと言う場合で、 現在形を使って良いでしょうか？ それは一般的でしょうか？ 口語ではどうでしょうか？ If I go to chaina, I can't see the movie (The movie will be shown in the next month) それとも、will + be able to seeに必ずしなければ、 ならないでしょうか？ If I go to chaina, I won't be able to see the movie もしくは別の言い方などありますでしょうか？ もし上映日などが定かではなくて見れるか見れないか あいまいな場合などには、willではなくwouldを使うことが できますでしょうか？ If I go to chaina, I wouldn't be able to see the movie ご教授の程宜しくお願い致します。

now that everything is as it should be ... これで準備は全て整った。 ある映画のせりふです。悪役が悪事をおこなうための条件が全て整ったときに言ったせりふです。 １．asは「～のように」の意味で使われているのでしょうか？ as I said before、私が前に行ったように、と同じ用法でしょうか？ ２.everything is as it should beの直訳は 「全てが(everything)それ(it)がなるべき(should)状態(be)である」でよろしいでしょうか？ 上記の2点についてご教授の程宜しくお願い致します。
