ＧｏｏｇｌｅのやってるＧoodtreeというチャリティーって何ですか？
海外の友人から以下のようなメールが来ました。 It gives money to charity when you click on it. It's invitation only. 何やら完全紹介制のチャリティーのようです。ご存知の方がいらっしゃいましたら、どういうものなのか教えて下さい。 私の英語力だと友人に確認したり、英文のＨＰを読みこなすのが難しいです。 宜しくお願いします！！！ http://www.goodtree.com/charity/select.html

アメリカの方とチャリティーの話をしていたら、だんだんと口語的になり、うまく訳せなくなりました。 下記を訳していただけないでしょうか... 「 Hey it is okay! I hope I am making sense to you. I want to help you, so lets figure this out. It seems to me that it was only yesterday when we last met you. この英文のit was only...以下は強調構文という説明がありました。It is ...when..という強調構文はあるのか、また強調構文ならit was...when..を取れば完全な文になると思うのですが、そうなるとlastが気になります。参考までにジーニアス英和辞典には似たような例で、that の代わりにwhenは通例取らないと書いてあったと思いますが。いかがでしょうか。

初めて質問させていただきます。 「病気をして初めて病気をすることがどんなか悟る」 Only [get/what/like/realize/you/you/when/seriously ill/really/do/it/be ill/is/to]. という整除問題についてですが、 私は Only when you get seriously ill, you really realize what it is like to be ill. としたのですが、[do]が余ってしまいどこに入れて良いのか解りません。 根本的に文の構造が間違っているのでしょうか…？ 私が間違えている箇所と、正答が知りたいです。 よろしくお願いします。

Only after Monday did I phone the office. only, only when, until のイメージがいまいちつかめず、自信がなかったのでご質問しました。 特に、only after, It's until の例文は良く見るのですが、 only when の表現を使用した例文は少なく感じました、使用頻度が少ないのでしょうか？ not untilだと ～までしなかった＝～して始めて、～してやっと。だなとすぐに分かるのですが、 only when に関しては ～して始めて＋～の時だけという意味もあり、 なぜ～して始めてという意味になるのかも分かりません。 ご存知の方、解説していただけないでしょうか？ またこの上記３文で何かニュアンスに違いなどありましたら、教えて頂きたいです。 宜しくお願いいたします。

アメリカ人の友人から、私の電話のメールに もらった英文をそのまま載せます。 You looked like I imagined you would look while talking to me when I saw you on the phone when you were walking to the Starbucks. ちんぷんかんぷんじゃないですか？ 意味と言うよりも文法とか構造が 変な気がします。。。アドバイスがある方は どうぞおしえてください。

下記の文法が良くわかりません。 なんでremember to で終われるのでしょうか？ それとも単純に、turn it off を省略してるのでしょうか It stops cooling or heating an empty apartment so you don't have to remember to, and it makes sure you're comfortable when you're home. Remember, they don't save you money on their own—they just automate what you could do with a bit more discipline.
