He fell (down) on the street. どっちでも構いません。 こんな言い方もあります。 He fell on/to the ground. 「彼は地面に倒れた」 She fell joyfully into my arms. 「喜々として私の腕に飛びこんだ」 She fell upon his neck. 「彼の首に抱きついた」 The deer fell (down) dead. 「鹿は倒れて死んだ」

(3) He was drunk, because he fell off the pier. (2)・(3)共に、「ジーニアス」からの引用ですが、(3)の文章ではbecauseは正式には「for」を使うとの事です。さらに言うと、私が思うに(2)の文章ではforが使えない気がします。正しいでしょうか？ （質問２）この内容、高校生（受験生）に教えるべきでしょうか？（明日、授業でやるところです）

参考書に When she visited the grave, she fell to her knees at the sight of it. (その墓を訪れた時、それを見て彼女はがっくりと膝を落とした) という英文が載ってました。 確かfall on one's kneesで「ひざまずく」という熟語があったと思うんですけど、上のfall to one's kneesも熟語なんですか？ 2つの意味の違いもよく分からないのですが…。

”鞄が落ちそうに置かれている。”と言う文章を英語に直したいのです。 自分で色々考えて見ましたが，良い英文が浮かびません。 下記の英文で良いでしょうか？ 他の言い方があれば教えて下さい。 1) A bag is put as if it seems to fall down. 2) A bag is put as if it is likely to fall down. 3) A bag is put in such a way that it starts to fall down. 4) A bag is put coming near falling down. 5) A bag is put looking almost falling down. この様な英文は思いつくのですが，これらで良いのかの知れませんが，なんとなくスッキリしません。 宜しくご教示お願いします。

If you're too careful about falling down, but not leaning against anything or holding on to anything, you'll fall more. Just make sure there's something nearby to lean on if you think you're going to fall at some point. Can't be too safe. よく道端で転ぶんだーという話をしたら、こう返答がかえってきました。 なんとなくはわかるのですが・・・ よろしくお願いします。

参考書でThere is nobody to be seen on the street.という文の書き換えとしてThere is nobody that can be seen on the street.とcanを用いていますが、不定詞の形容詞的用法の意味合いを考えるとcanではなくshouldかmustを用いてThere is nobody that should(must) be seen on the street.という書き換えではないのか？と思っています。実際、There is nobody to be seen on the streetという文はcan（可能）の意味なのでしょうか？
