(7)“Any place you love is the world to you,” exclaimed a pensive Catherine Wheel, who had been attached to an old deal box in early life, and prided herself on her broken heart: “but love is not fashionable any more: the poets have killed it. They wrote so much about it that nobody believed them, and I am not surprised. True love suffers, and is silent. I remember myself once-But it is no matter now. Romance is a thing of the past.”
(8)“Nonsense!” said the Roman Candle, “Romance never dies. It is like the moon, and lives for ever. The bride and bridegroom, for instance, love each other very dearly. I heard all about them this morning from a brown-paper cartridge, who happened to be staying in the same drawer as myself, and he knew the latest Couet news.”
(9)But the Catherine Wheel shook her head. “Romance is dead, Romance is dead, Romance is dead,” she murmured. She was one of those people who think that, if you say the same thing over a great many times, it becomes true in the end.
(10)Suddenly, a sharp, dry cough was heard, and they all looked round.
(11)It came from a tall, supercilious-looking Rocket, who was tied to the end of a long stick . He always coughed before he made any observation, so as to attract attention.
(1)The last item on the programme was a grand display of fireworks, to be let off exactly at midnight.
The little Princess had never seen a firework in her life, so the King had given orders that the Royal Pyrotechnist should be in attendance on the day of her marriage.
(2)“What are fireworks like?” she had asked the Prince, one morning, as she was walking on the terrace.
(3)“They are like the Aurora Borealis,” said the King, who always answered questions that were addressed to other people, “only much more natural. I prefer them to stars myself, as you always know when they are going to appear, and they are as delightful as my own flute-playing. You must certainly see them”
(4)So at the end of the King's garden a great stand had been set up, and as soon as the Royal Pyrotechnist had put everything in its proper place, the fireworks began to talk to each other.
(5)“The world is certainly very beautiful,” cried a little Squib. “Just look at those yellow tulips Why ! if they were real crackers they could not be lovelier. I am very glad I have travelled. Travel improves the mind wonderfully, and does away with all one's prejudices.”
(6)“The King's garden is not the world, you foolish squib,” said a big Roman Candle: “the world is an enormous place, and it would take you three days to see it thoroughly.”

Dear Mr.Hawthorne,
I am writing to express my disappointment with your company's customer service and to let you know that I will no longer be purchasing any products from Trac Computing.
I frist contacted Trac Computing's customer sevice by telephone on November 11th.
After being put on hold for more than twenty minutes I was told by a custmer service representative that a technician would contact me that evening.
After receiving no telephone call I called customer service the next day.
When I asked why I had received no telephone call the representative told me that a call had been made but that I had not answered.
This was obviously not true because the number I had given was for mobile phone, which I had with me the whole evening.
I then asked the representative to connect me to a technician.
The representative answered that no technicians were available at the moment.
It is at this point that I decided to write a letter to you directly.
Why has the customer written a letter to Mr.Hawthorne?
1)To have her service upgraded.
2)To congratulate Mr.Hawthorne on his company's excellent product.
3)To inform Mr.Hawthorne that he has lost a customer.
4)To get a refund from Mr.Hawthorne's comapny.
What did the customer service representative tell the customer to expect?
1)A full refund.
2)A call from a technician.
3)To be put on hold for twenty minutes.
4)More problems in the future.

Blocked: Only letters [a-z], numbers [0-9] and emails are allowedとの画面が出て決済できません。

All the information collected from the volunteers helpes scientists to create a complicated way to compute qind chill, involving both wind speed and air temperature. For example , fi the outside temperature is about -18℃ and the wind is blowing at 15 miles per hour, experts calculate the wind chill at -28℃. At that wind chill temperature, your skin can freeze in 30 minutes. You can find the table of calculations at www.nuws.noaa.gov/om/windchill/index.shtml.
Experts say that when it's cold, you should dress in layers of loose, lightweight, and warm cloting so that air between the layers will protect you. The best cold-weather coats have hoods, are made of woven material, and are waterproof. So when the weather is very cold and you want to go lutside, you will understand why your parents always told you to wear a hat and gloves.
Have you ever been outside and thought it was a certain temperature but then quickly realized it felt much colder? That is the "wind chill" factor.
Wind chill is how cold we feel when we're outside, not the actual temperature on the thermometer. It is based on how quickly your body leses heatin the wind and cold. When the wind is blowing outside, the wind chill can quickly take the heat out of your body, and your skin temperature will go down.
When scientists first studied wind chill, they used research done in 1945 by Antartic explorers who measured how fast water became frozen outside.
But water freezes faster than our skin in cold air, so this wasn't a good way to measure the wind chill.
In 2001, the U.S. government measured wind chill more precisely by testing how quickly a person's skin froze. Twelve volunteers sat in a cold wind tunnel, and researchers measured the heat flowing from their cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. One thing they learned was that frostbite (or freezing of the skin) happens quickly on exposed of your nose, and your ear lobes. In fact, 40 percent of your body heat leaves your body through the head! You know you have frostbite when your skin looks white or pale and you have no feeling in it.

What do you know?
What do you know?
の場合は「Do you know what~」なのでしょうか?

All Inuit live most of their lives close to salt water or fresh water.
Their land has a wild look, but grass and flowers manage to live there.
In the past the Inuit lived by hunting and fishing and moved all year.
The Inuit year has two main seasons:a long, cold winter and a short, cool summer.
Spring and fall are too short to be noticed.
In summer, there is no snow on the land, and little ice on the sea.
In winter the sea freezes and becomes vast ice fields.

Saying the facts are there for all to see, he said the United States knows Manssor Arbabsiar, a naturalized U.S. citizen with an Iranian passport charged in the case, had direct links and was paid and directed by individuals in Iran's government.
2。charged in the case
3。had direct links

...showing the band in scorching form.
