「毅然とした」の英訳の問題です
英文法の参考書に I want you all to hold your heads high when you state your opinions. (全員、意見を述べるときには毅然とした態度をとってほしい) とありました。 しかし、 https://eowp.alc.co.jp/search?q=%e6%af%85%e7%84%b6%e3%81%a8%e3%81%97%e3%81%9f にあるように、「毅然とした」という語句は上記英文に含まれていません。なぜ参考書のような訳になるのでしょうか？

I want you all to hold your heads high when you state your opinions. を直訳すれば「あなたがたが意見を述べる時はみんな頭を上げてほしい」で、意訳すれば「全員、意見を述べるときには毅然とした態度をとってほしい」もその内に入るからです。 参考書から頭を上げて（＝目を離して）「意味」を探る態度をお取りになると理解力がつきます。
