To achieve that goal, it will move through different parts of Fig. 1, starting with GPNs and regions, through ABS and WCs, to OJs, focusing on the problem of measuring value and its geographical distribution in GPNs. 上記英文中，冒頭のitの用法が良く分かりません。ご指導願います。他は分かります。宜しくお願いします。

ご返事ありがとうございます。 前のほうに書かれた英文には， this section presents some initial ideas on how these intersections can be operationalized in terms of data and methods. とあります。 続く To achieve that goal は，たぶん経済発展のような大きな話ではなく，この論文中で提起された方法論上の問題解明のように読めます。 it will move through different parts of Fig. 1・・・ の it は，operation ではないですか。前には動詞ででてきますが。

もし前方に it が指すものが（あなたの読解力のせいではなく）発見できないなら。 変則的に感じますが，it ～ to ～構文のつもり.。すなわち「 it will move through different parts of Fig.1 to achieve that goal」が倒置されているのかもしれません。

上記英文中，冒頭のitの用法が良く分かりません。 普通この「前」の文にある名詞を指して挿している代名詞です。これだけではわかりません。
