簡単な質問ですみません。でも、分からないんです。
簡単な質問ですみません。 The money for students to attend a cyberschool comes from the public school systems where they live. この文章の最初の部分、’The money for students to attend a cyberschool・・’は、 「学生達がサイバースクールに出席するためのお金・・」と訳す事が出来ると思うのですが、なぜこの順番で訳していくのか自分では良く分かりません。つまり、感覚的に訳してしまっているので、文法的な説明が全く出来ません。これをもっと自信がある訳である文法的な説明ができる訳にかえたいと思っているのですが、どうすれば良いでしょうか？ 今の文章の場合、文法書のどこを見て、どのように説明すればよろしいのでしょうか？ すごく簡単な質問で大変申し訳ございませんが、よろしくお願いいたします。

＞’The money for students to attend a cyberschool・・’は、 「学生達がサイバースクールに出席するためのお金・・」と訳す事が出来ると思うのですが、なぜこの順番で訳していくのか自分では良く分かりません。 既に回答出ている通りで The money for students to attend a cyberschool の部分は、この文章全体の主語に当たります。 The money (for students to attend a cyberschool) comes from the pubric school systems where they lives. となります。 the money for studentsは生徒にとってのそのお金と直訳できますが to attend a cyberschoolの部分が不定詞になっていて the money....to attend a cyber school お金 ← サイバースクールに通うための とお金を修飾しています。 そのためstudentsはattendの意味上の主語となります。 生徒たちにとっての、サイバースクールに通うための、そのお金 という訳を整理すれば 「生徒たちがサイバースクールに通うためのお金」となると思います。

英語のＳ＋Ｖ＋～ （Ｓはsubjectで主語,主部、Ｖはverbで動詞）はご存知だと思います。 この形から考えると、ＳとＶにあたる部分、そしてそれに続く部分を探せばわかりやすいと思います。 [The money for students to attend a cyberschool] [comes] from [the public school systems where they live.] もう少し単純化して書くと [The money] [comes] from [the public school systems.] └for students to attend a cyberschool └where they live

幹となる文章は The money comes from the public school systems. です。 The money for students to attend a cyberschool はこの文章の主部になり、The money をfor students to attend a cyberschool が修飾しています。 to+動詞は不定詞といい、この場合はmoneyをいう名詞を修飾しているので名詞的用法といいます。 to attendの主語はforで表すので、あなたの書いてあるとおりの訳になります。
