>>roadのdの発音はsafetyのsの発音に負けてしまうのでしょうか これは色々表現できますが、質問の方の文は質問の発音に関して正しくとらえています 発音では、子音vs母音、有声vs無声という対比がよく出てきますが、fortis(strong) vs lenis(weak) という対比も出てきます 専門的な用語なので一般的にはあまり知られていません 問いの文においては、/d/ という音はlenisです / s /という音はfortisです つまり、/ s /という音は/ d /という音よりも発音において、より強い力が必要な音です(= より強い音です) これはaspiration(帯気)が関係しています 簡単に覚えるには大まかに、有声音(lenis) < 無声音(fortis) と覚えておけばいいです このfortis vs lenisの考えは、有声音同士、無声音同士の力の強さにも使えるので覚えておくと、音変化の理由を理解するのに役立ちます あと、質問のroad safetyにおいては、d は明らかに消えかかるような発音であり、s は次の a とともに第一アクセントとして発音されるので、それだけでs に軍配が上がるわけです

英語の速解を行うために方法を考えているんですが、 「of ～」とか「to ～」とか「at ～」前置詞の前で区切って読むとわかりやすことが分かりました。 話も前置詞の前で区切って話そうかと思っているのですが、これはおかしいイントネーションになりますか？ 「主語」「動詞」「of～」「to～」「at～」ごとに息継ぎ（区切り）をしているのですが ネイティブはどこで区切っているか知りたいです。 たとえば「It is easiest to teach mathematics to very young children.」をぼくが言うと、 It（区切り）is（区切り）easiest（区切り）to teach mathematics（区切り）to very young children. となります。 あと前置詞ごとに区切ると、動詞か名詞に掛かっているかで形容詞か副詞か補語かもすぐわかりますし便利です。 こんな区切りをしてるのはぼくだけかなと思って質問しました。 どこで区切って発音するのか教えてください。
