always/usually は習慣的行為について用いられます。 普通，現在形は「～する」，進行形が「～している」ですが， 日本語の「～している」はさまざまな意味があります。 状態を表したり，完了を表すこともあります。 そして，習慣的行為も「～している」が「する」より自然です。 「日曜日はいつも何をしているのですか？」は What do you usually do on Sunday? I always take a walk in the park. 「私はいつも，公園で散歩しています」 always の場合に習慣的行為で現在形が基本。 ただし，「いつも～してばかりいる」という日本語に当てはまるものは is always ～ing となります。 これは本当に「常にする・している」のではなく，本当は時たまなんだけど， 「いつもしてばかりいるよ」と非難する場合に用いられます。 She is always complaining about her husband. 彼女はいつも，夫のぐちばかりこぼしている。 一人称主語の場合は「いつもしてしまうんだよ」という自戒であったり， I'm always meeting him there. 「彼とはいつも，そこで会ってしまうんだよ」という偶発的行為に対する驚き。 ここも「会社に携帯を置き忘れる」というのが，忘れるとしたら必ず職場だ， というのであれば (1) もあり得ますが，「いつも忘れてしまうんだよ」という自戒であれば (2) ということになります。 習慣的行為を事実として述べるのが現在形 sometimes/often/usually/always で頻度を表す。 is always ～ing は常に always で，何らかの感情が入る。
