中学の英語
She ( ) to the concert because she had a cold. この（ ）の中に、彼女が風邪をひいているのは過去の一点を表すわけではないから wasn´t going が入って彼女はコンサートに行かないつもりだったと言えそうなのに、 didn´t goが入る理由を出来るだけ詳しく分かりやすく教えてください。

She didn't go to the concert because she had a cold. OK She wasn't going to go to the concert becasue she had a cold. OK be going to はwillと同じく助動詞としてみなす人が多いためにtoの後に動詞の原形を持ってこないといけない。 http://www.englishcafe.jp/english3rd/day5.html She went to the concert. 過去を述べている。 一点を述べている She was going to the concert. 過去を述べているが一点よりも幅を持つだから She was going to the concert when her boyfriend called her. 行動を起こしている時間の間に電話が鳴る。 上記の観点からすると She wasn't going to the concert becasue she had a cold. は、違和感がある・・・なぜ進行形を取るのか理由が見つからない。

下記は両方ともいいんですが意味が違います。 １． She (didn't go) to the concert because she had a cold. 2. She (wasn't going) to the concert because she had a cold. １ は、もうコンサートが終わって、彼女が行かなかった事が確認できた場合。 「彼女は風邪を引いていたのでコンサートに行かなかった」 ２ は、彼女の欠席が確認出来ない時。コンサートの前でも後でも使える。 「彼女が風邪を引いていたから彼女はコンサートに行かないことになっていた。」 「彼女が風邪を引いていたから彼女はコンサートに行かないと思っていた。」

I didn't want to go to the movie, because I had already seen the film. という文章は理解できるのですが、これに付け加えて「その映画はひどかった」とか 言う場合は、it was awfulなのか、 it is awfuｌ なのか、it'd been awfulなのかわかりません。 そもそも、 didn't go to the movies という過去の一点の前におこったことは全て過去完了になるのでしょうか？ それとも、関連性のないものはI didn't go to the movies の前に起こったことでもただの過去形でいいのでしょうか？ 分かる方宜しくお願いします。

My daughter has a master's degree in education and spent three years as a nanny when she was an undergraduate. She recently began her first teaching job with second-grade children. The principal is terrific. However, there is an older teacher who has been at this school for years, and she is making my daughter's life miserable. This teacher runs the show.
