not often はoftenを否定する際に使われます。 しかしながら今回はsungがあるため、sungを否定しなくてはなりません。 not often sung の語順ですと、先に形容詞としてのoftenを否定して、sungが宙にういてしまいます。 ですからnot sung として先に動詞のsungを否定し、そのあとoftenを副詞として並べることで文章に不備がないものにしています。 ビッグアップルは"the big apple"と呼ばれているので、覚えるしかありません。国の名前なのにユナイテッドステイツもtheがつきますよね？一般的にそう呼ばれているものはそう覚えるしかありません。 逆に東京ドームの愛称のビッグエッグはもとが日本語なので、それをそのまま英訳しただけの”big egg”でいいわけです。

お願いします。 適語を選ぶ問題です。 She is a famous singer ( ) songs many people sing. 1. who 2. whose 3. whom 4. that ( )の直後が名詞なので、whoseだと思ったのですが、 そのうしろにSVが続くのがわかりません。 She is a famous singer whose songs are sung by many people. という形ならすぐわかるのですが…。
