英文の構造
英文の構造 They are so alike that it is difficult to tell which is which. which がそれぞれ 関係代名詞の何格 かを特に教えて欲しいです。 詳しく、文構造を教えてくだされば、幸いですm(__)m

問題の英文の二つの which は両方とも疑問代名詞です。この文章中に関係代名詞はありません。 ちなみに訳文ですが、 「それらは大変よく似ているので、どっちがどっちと判別するのは難しい」 ぐらいだと思います。 構文：so～that... あまりに～なので... it...to～ （仮主語のit）～することは...です 語句： tell ...を識別する またso～that...のthatは接続詞です。

'which is which' は関係詞節ではなく、 間接疑問文を構成する名詞節です。 'which' はどちらも関係代名詞ではなく、 疑問代名詞です。 この節の中で、１つ目の 'which' は主語、 ２つ目の 'which' は補語となっていて、 どちらも主格です。 手元の参考書に "I don't know which is which."（どれがどれだか分からない） という例文があり、'which' はどちらも疑問代名詞と 解説されています。

which is which. これはたしかにこの表現見たことがなかったら、混乱しますね。 同時にちゃんとした文法的説明を見たことがありません（わたしが 怠慢なだけかもしれません）。 which is which べたに訳して、どっちがどっちといえますが、まさしくそれがこの フレーズのいみです。 文法はというとちゃんとした解説ができませんが、 They are so alike that it is difficult to tell which is which. をおきかえて、 They are so alike that it is difficult to tell which is Kate and which is Jane. こんな風に置き換えることができますので、最初のwhichは単なる疑問代名詞です。 しめされた文の２回目にでてくるwhichは上記の文のKateとかJaneのどっちか をいっています。なので疑問代名詞といっていいかとおもいます。 文法でこれがアリなのかとか解説をせまられるとお答えを持ちませんが、 良く出てくる表現であることは確かです。

Learning foreign language is difficult.A simple statement,but perhaps it may reassure some of the millions who have failed to master another tongue that they are not subnormal.Perhaps only dieting takes up so much human endeavour with so little to show for it. という文なんですが、構造がつかめない点があります。まず第２文の先頭のA simple statementは何ですか？文の形もありませんし、ただの名詞としてしか捉えられません。仮に前文を受けるとしてthis isを補ったとしたら文となりますが、このthis isを省略できるという文法は習ったこともありません。そんな文法だけに頼ってかたく考えるなと言われそうですが、あくまで受験勉強として 英語を読む以上やはり構文からしっかり把握したいのでお願いします。 また途中の文はいいのですが、最後の文はまったく捉えられません。「ダイエット」が何かの比喩として使われるだろうとは思うのですが、前置詞であるwithの後ろに名詞がきてないこと（littleが名詞なのでしょうか？）や、showの目的語がわからないことなどさっぱりです。 アドバイスよろしくお願いします。
